Kevin was a brilliant Electrical Engineer, PhD. Research Scientist, devoted Dad & Avid Aviator. He died in a helicopter crash.
I remember him most for a bunch of time he spent with me when I was applying for another job and he was reviewing my cover letter drafts. He kept saying "It's too Colloquial" until I googled what "colloquial" means. It means informal. He could have just said informal.
He was a vegetarian for most of his time with us here, but about 4 years ago he asked me about a post I made about how easy it is to get protein from lunch meat. Boom, just like that he started eating meat, I was very surprised.
He was a heavy lifter, his profile pic was of a massive back and towering traps. He got into pretty hardcore running later on and had a smaller, chiseled but built frame. Unfortunately all these update pics went away with Iron Sanctuary.
He built a new pole barn a few years back and upstairs he had this contraption that looked like something out of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids." He posted one pic of it briefly and it was something ridiculously specific like "I'm tracking the negative ion particles emitting from Saturn." I don't remember exactly what it was, but he was very interested in it.
He leaves behind 2 young Sons, RIP My old friend.

We were supposed to hookup when I was in Nashville for a game but he absolutely despised the crowds and wouldn't go anywhere near Broadway even though he lived a little over a mile away.
Good guy who I am sure is missed by his family, friends and college workmates."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

I tell it like it is, if you want smoke blown up your ass or something sugar coated. I suggest you get a Hooker and a powdered donut.

I didn't know him that well, but I did enjoy my discussions with him here. He was clearly a very bright guy and I always looked forward to seeing what he had to say. Really hate to see it when one of our own (in the O35) checks out too early....and mlsman definitely punched out before his time. RIP
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Yep I remember him once bitching that he was gonna have to teach a class. Didn't want to be around all those kids.
Yeah we're dropping off unfortunately.
Hope someone makes a thread for me when I die.
If I have a heart attack in a grocery store, don't mention that, say I was in the squat rack or a helicopter crash, I wanna go out like a True Boss.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I had another memory of Kevin pop up today. I don't remember all the circumstances but we were having a real tough time financially, think we were supporting a couple of terminally ill relatives. It was winter and Kevin suggested blocking off rooms we weren't using. My Wife got home and I had blocked off about 400 sq ft including our living room, she just rolled with it like a champ. It was cozy in our dining room that winter but we made it.
Thanks Kevin.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
