I think the current Ukraine offensive an all out effort to show progress despite the costs, in order to make the international community hang in. If the Congress flips, and people start getting cold, the winds will turn against them, especially if Russia performs a counter offensive and takes back some the recent losses.

Of course, Ukraine supporters say that is impossible and that the Russian military is garbage, of course which begs the question- if they suck so bad, how did they take 25% of the country in the first place?

Yes, a lot depends on the US House flipping and Europe having a normal, cold winter. Also, if reports roll in about an anemic Christmas shopping season or not. If it's weak it's going to scare the fuk out of tons of companies, and thus Wall Street. Everything I just mentioned is likely, so if there's a shred of common sense among them, Biden's handlers will push for a peace deal before Christmas. If not, it will happen after reports of Europeans freezing to death and the US stock market chits the bed in early 2023.
