Done with any more engine performance mods, would go z06 or GS if I was going forced induction. The new Michelin run flats can't grip on the street, even at 80mph I lose traction at WOT. Going to switch the exhaust back to an o/r xpipe, the cats neutered the sound. Have a CF ZR1 spoiler and some clear side markers coming in and not going to put anymore money in it.
Have a draggy but haven't use it yet.

See lots of HIGH hp vettes. Generally not a very good recipe. The platform as a whole really cant put the power down without extensive mods. If it is what you like to do for fun, then great, but not the platform I would mod. I was behind a 1000+ hp vette that crashed into a barrier on the highway trying to 'run' with a few other guys.
At a certain point, more power is not more better but lots of guys like the bragging rights of dyno numbers. Whatever floats your boat and I love most all cars. Just seen many high(er) hp vettes end in disaster.

Didnt see HP either. That is a more sane amt of HP in that car. Should be fun. Definitely want better tires. Should be able to put that power down. Have had PS4S on a different car, and needless to say, they are a great street / performance tire. I had them on the track and they gave great confidence and were predictable and could hold up to the hard running. On the street, they are fantastic. Just have to watch cold temps. They can get a little dicy in lower temps. (below 45 ish)

Agreed. I think that they're an awesome street tire, but if I were to track the car I'd get a dedicated combo for that.
Regarding cold temps, it's getting cool here in New England, I just drove the car and you can already feel them starting to turn into hockey pucks.Me caveman, put round things on bar, lift, pound chest.

r888 don’t seem to get good reviews, but Nitto NT01s are loved all around. I’m not sure if they heat cycle and go bad quick. Might have to stick with a street tire like pilot sports or conti contacts.
I saw a Firestone Indy 500 for a good price and they seem to be a great budget tire. I don’t care about wet performance.*TRUMP 2024 Crew

888's are old tech. There are a few new 200 tread wear tires on the market. For my track car (which I also drive on the street) , I run Falken Azenis RT660. They completely blow away the performance of a 888. Much better heat management. Shedding a lot less rubber on the track also. The difference in the side of my car with these vs 888's is pretty amazing. This is how much rubber I would throw off on track with 888's.
Here is a good tire guide for general info. (motorsports oriented)

I think most people just think you are going to toss a bunch of power at a car and its going to work which is almost never the case. These same people generally completely neglect suspension mods that are almost necessary to accommodate all the new found power.
I have a good friend with a HCI C6Z that cuts consistent 1.3-1.4 60ft times on his dragy with a set of Viking Double Adjustable shocks and a 28x10.5 Hoosier QTP (he bought a conversion kit that allows him to run a 15" wheel in the rear). Its a pretty simple set up but when he was stock suspension all he did was blow whatever tires he had on it... off.... You can have all the power in the known universe but if you cant plant it... its not worth a fk.6'2" @ 247lbs

Vid of a recent mountain run. One of my buddies drives a C6 w/ 950whp. (you can see him in front of me in the vid) But it is EXTENSIVELY modded for the track as well. He was the 3/4 fastest guy in our group. He and I were running about the same pace. My car only has 360hp, but I only weigh 1900lbs. Guy in ACR who is basically a pro driver was the fastest, followed by a guy with a ZL1 !LE. Lots of HIGH hp cars on this run. 812 superfast, stage III GT2RS putting out 900+.
Vettes can indeed handle IF set up properly AND are driven by a skilled driver. I was a little hesitant in my car on this drive as I had made some suspension mods (went up about 20% in spring rate). I was not sure what it would do at it's limit, and if it snap turns, there is no room to recover. I am glad I took it easy as a buddy ended with his 1LE coming home on flat bed! Last time on track I was seeing 1.8g's peak cornering in my car, but I wont push that hard on tight roads.
Turns out, the car DOES indeed snap turn with too much lift in a corner now. My son found out at our track day not long after this run. This would be VERY bad to happen on a mountain run!
