    Tuna sandwich recipes?

I've tried making a tuna sandwich once, with little luck. Didn't taste good. I see they here recommend having cottage cheese on a tuna sandwich, that I haven't tried https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipe...alad_sandwich/

If you have ever made something resembling a good tuna sandwich, please post what you did.

My recipe: open a can of tuna. Throw it away. I hate it!

Jokes aside, in Italy tuna+Mayo is quite popular and you can use reduced calorie Mayo if you wanna keep the fats lower. Mix your tuna with Mayo and a little bit of pepper, throw in a couple leaves of lettuce and two slices of tomato and that’s it.

Appreciated. I created a thread about travel food, and canned tuna was brought up, but I haven't much liked tuna before. There's tuna in olive oil, and tuna in tomato which are for sale at my local store. I'll try lettuce under it, and perhaps slicing some tomato and spices to have it on it.

I haven't had a tuna sandwich in a while because, well, I don't really like it (as the similar sentiment in this thread has already been stated).

But when I do, this is how I make it:
    1) Lightly toast two pieces of whole wheat bread
    2) Take a packet of tuna light (3oz) and use a fork reaching all the way in to get it to come out in one slab and put it onto one of the pieces of bread
    3) Season with favorite dry seasoning
    4) Add mayo to the other slice of bread and place on top

Could add cheese maybe but never tried that.

You can substitute canned salmon for canned tuna. Canned salmon cans are wider on the bottom than they are on the top. I'll send some of my 2023 calendars to the first person that posts the reason why. I know the reason, because I'm a smart guy.

"Alaska, where many salmon canneries are situated, doesn't have any can manufacturers. The cans have to be shipped to the canneries from other locations. With the tapered style, the cans are stacked, like paper cups, and don't take up as much space."

I actually prefer tuna tacos over tuna sandwiches. Make your normal slop of drained tuna, mayo and some finely chopped pieces of your preferred crunchy veggies(i like bell peppers, pickles, celery), then slather it onto a flour tortilla, fold into half and then grill on a skillet or griddle until lighlty browned on both sides.

Here, the cans have a lip on the top but not the bottom so they can be stacked.

Same here. The lip is on the bottom. The cans are manufactured somewhere else, stacked and shipped to Alaska. They get filled and the bottom part of the can is put on.

I don't care for mayo that much but I mix my tuna with greek yogurt and it's pretty good. Going to get hate for this but I grew up on Miracle Whip and prefer it over mayo if I have to choose.

Use tuna in water, drain water.

Add lemon juice, mayo, diced onions + diced gherkins, pickles or pepperonici.

    Put in between toasted bread.

Add sliced avocado or cucumbers if desired.

    Slice sandwich in half diagonally.
