Also PS3 exclusives were MUCH better than 360 with higher metacritic scores too.

Let's not forget RROD, Kinect and Halo/forza/gears. The console had so many fails. And PS3 even had free online back then.

Also note the 360 cost 400$ vs PS3's 600$ and 360 had a year headstart.

360 was better the first years but the prize is only given at the end... and it lost.

Gears of war wasn’t on PC for a while. I think maybe until gears 3 without looking it up.

I enjoy both consoles though so Idc about the console war chit. Play what you prefer, just because you prefer one doesn’t make the other chit lol. It’s all so dumb. I do prefer my Xbox for games that are on both but the PS5 is great too and Sony has some cool exclusive games worth having both. So does xbox. Being a gamer why wouldn’t you have both? It’s a win win.

I bought a 360 in '09, it was the first console I had bought since I got a Wii on release. I wanted to play modern NCAA football games and try out MW2 and Bad Company 2 that all my friends were talking about. Didn't even consider a PS3 at the time. It was significantly more expensive and didn't have party chat.

Not really biased though, PS4 was looking like a much better release than XB1 so I went with Sony for that generation with no regrets.

But Gears, Halo, and Forza have always been GOAT multiplayer experiences with the bois. Splinter Cell Conviction was dope co-op, and it was only on xbox too. All that with CoD and Battlefield on the same console? Xbox was definitely the best for social play.

Xbox missed out on GOAT Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon Souls, and Infamous though. PS3 exclusive single player mogged. Kinda the same story with every gen that followed too.

I am not invested in this war one way or the other, although I have owned a PSP, vita, PS, PS2, PS3 and PS4 and no Xbox ever. That all said, I feel Sony did handheld gaming wrong with the way they fuked and bungled the Vita, so I consider myself mostly neutral here.

My answer would be:
1) It was a damn close contest, those always get contested
2) The PS3 was good but not groundbreakingly great like the PS2, so the sting of being whupped by a lesser opponent fuels their opinion
