There is an ingrained perception re: manufactured housing.

It has changed quite a bit though. I really don't like a lot of the interior finish work still used on the cheapest mobile homes. But the nicer one have come a long way and the building standard was upgraded in 2000 so homes built since 2001 or so should be better quality than older models.

What may not be important to some is that most tiny homes are registered as trailers or RVs, not as mobile homes or houses.

Why does that matter? Because in a lot of states RVs don't get hit with such high property taxes- you pay the same sort of tax you would pay on a fifth wheel or other camper.

I like Charlene and I like her place. Wouldn't work so well for anyone not living alone maybe, but she is widowed and retired and doesn't want to do a lot of upkeep.

I grew up out in the country and knew people who lived in trailers and trailer parks.

The big issue with them was, blowing away in high winds, and rotting floors from moisture.
