you stated that it doesnt matter if it bombs because he gets his 22 mill anyway
IT ABSOLUTELY MATTERS because if it bombs he wont get 22 mill next time. If he actually got 22 mill this time, thats because his movies obviously do rather better than the misc gives him credit for. And thats without even getting into receiving proportions of box office sales2023 bertie awards 2024 nominations

That's half of what mediocre marvel movies pull.
Thor: Love and Thunder grossed $343.3 million in the United States and Canada, and $417.4 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $760.7 million.[4][5] It is the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2022.[169] The film's opening weekend earned $303.3 million globally,Motorcycle crew

Hopefully you still enjoy reading: https://variety.com/2022/film/featur...se-1235320046/
"Studio executives concede that the payouts at Netflix, Apple and their ilk have caused some actors to raise their quotes. Johnson, for instance, asked for and received $22.5 million to play the lead in “Black Adam,” a DC superhero movie. In addition, he will receive millions more for producing the film and earns a fee on top of that to promote the movie on his social media channels."

Eh, IDK if that guarantees a sequel. I think it means that his character will come back (maybe in another DC movie)
The movie wasn't bad, it was just incredibly and PAINFULLY generic and cliche. You can figure out whats going to happen from act to act. It just checks off all the most cliche superhero tropes and shoves it into a 2 hour movie. Its the kind of movie that would have been "good" if it instead came out in, like, 2010.
More to the point, I had always been under the impression that if Black Adam reverted back to his normal form he'd crumble to dust because he's like, 2000 years old....At least thats how I remember it from the comics.
The chit-head kid was annoying as hell and Dr. Fate (who is the best part of the movie) was just a ripoff of Dr Strange. Fate has a much more diverse arsenal of skills, but they just copy and pasted All the chit Dr Strange has already done in his movies and made Dr. Fate do it. This movie unironically made me appreciate Marvels newer movies (as crappy as they maybe) because Black Adam felt like a "Phase 1 Marvel movie" and I think audiences are well past that which is why its just barely going to break even.Last edited by Maestro; 10-25-2022 at 08:06 PM.

I'm not into Marvel movies but Hollywood is not necessarily a bad thing
I mean it's entertainment, you choose to consume it, if it's crap just don't watch it
Read the sequel to Watchmen and it has Black Adam, he turns Iraq into a utopian country
That's basically all I know, not gonna watch this but it doesn't look that bad honestly
Going to watch that Bollywood joint RRR someone recommended here earlier
Will post a review

The idea missed by you is that the top tier stars(Rock) get a flat number then extras.
The Rock is top tier so he gets that 22.5 million and i personally, have never see that number go in the opposite direction.
Tom Cruise had bad movies, but has his price gone down over time? There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!
