Will only watch if Elliot Page (he/him) is in it.

I personally don't mind that she doesn't look like Ellie from the games, as long as she portrays the character correctly and doesn't over-act then I'll be good. However, based on her performance in Game of Thrones, I too am skeptical. Hopefully we get more of the stink eye -

I predict that, when the show airs you will be the most active poster in the series thread, telling everyone how much you dislike the show and that you never watch it.

House of the Dragon is a boring borefest, only keeping viewers because of GOT as a series, not because of its own merit. It's a show about a bunch of British 5/10s overacting to all hell.
I hope TLOU is good on it's own but I will remain skeptical, given the current state of video games turned into visual media and the track record of these. I'm not huge on the casting choices personally, but maybe they'll pull it off.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

Yeah, I agree that that the girl they hired to play Ellie doesn't look right for the part. But on the other hand - keep in mind this is the best we could hope to get from HBO. It's either this chick, or an astronaut-American. So you just have to be content with what you got.

To be fair, House of the Dragon thus far has been what amounts to a prologue before the main story which is the dance of the dragons (ie, the war). At least this is what I've read from those familiar with the books. And yes, it has been a slow burner.
After last week's episode I'm already eager to see Alicent and Ser Cole of the House of Incel meet their demise.

I predict that just like Game of Thrones, I'll wind up rooting for the undead.
The good news for anyone who happens to either (A) have loved the Mountain vs Viper fight or (B) not like Pedro Pascal are going be in for a treat come season 2.
The bad news is that it's going to be all Down's hill from there unless they can manage to pick the perfect casting for Abby:
Spoiler!
House of the Dragon lost me on the time jump. Just as you start to understand the characters, half of them are different people, one guy's ancient, and everyone else is kind of just the same looking.
Agreed on being skeptical just by virtue of this being a video game adaption, but I'm also skeptical in general about HBO's quality these days and in the future. AT&T was bad, and now who knows what Discovery will have in store.
Nah, Ellie's already a protected class being a lesbian and she's hot for a black chick, so they're all set there, which makes the casting itself off. Same kind of applies to some other choices to be fair, granted not to such a drastic extent, but the aforementioned love interest has one weird-as-hell look/stare, Pedro Pascal looks too fat, and Joel's daughter is just lol like the alternative choice you mentioned.
Nick Offerman as Bill is an excellent pick, but Merle Dandridge as Marlene takes the crown for the best casting of them all seeing as she literally played Marlene in the games!
I'm always a stickler for remaining as true as possible to the source material if you're going to adapt something, and Marlene isn't even just gold, but the straight up platinum standard for casting a video game adaption. They have an HBO budget and their choice of any actors, so to fukk up so bad on the two main leads is crazy.
And the clicker is excellent practical effects at play.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
