Does anybody have any links to any LIVE cameras from the Sarasota or Fort Myers area, like traffic or random city cams? All I can find are time lapses. Used to have a link saved but I must have deleted it. Trying to get a rough idea of what my parents house will look like once this passes. Will rep

Fresh water flooding is no joke and can happen far inland. 40 inches of raining and overflowing rivers, say goodbye to your chit.
The wind itself is a relatively small problem unless you're in a wooden home right in the eyewall near the coast.
Should be a lot here:

I don't care what your politics are, while politicians have their place in government, it's never good to think they are your saviors. Far from it. Along with the rest fo the government, they are powerful until they aren't. They have little control of things and limited resources to do much about everything. At least Floridians although crazy AF have this fact in the back of their minds. Pretty much every Floridian I know has supplies and a plan to on how to handle a disaster. They know life is fragile. They also have Denny's.

My home made out well. Lost power this morning at 8am and no real damage. But. Downtown and along the coast in Naples, going east towards Tamiami Trail is wrecked. Storm surge. This storm was no joke.
To everyone making this political. Go out and get yourself monkeypox and pray to god Mother Nature or anything else doesn’t come for you.
Hope all my Florida friends are safe.

According to the National Hurricane Center, damage caused by a Category 4 hurricane could result in power outages for several weeks to several months. Does it really take that long to restore power??

2004 hurricane Francis wasn't even a direct hit in West Palm and a weak Cat 2.......... 3 weeks no power. But we hadn't got hit in like 30 years so everything was poverty. The next year got hit TWICE. But because the year before had already blown the trees down, we only lost power like 2 or 3 days
