Week 1 successfully in the books boyos. Didn't have a drink, the first few days were fine. Weds/Thurs felt like having a drink after work but didn't. Last night I had my son, and we went to Bass Pro shop to pick up a fishing license and some gear, then burgers and a movie. The night was over before I even thought about it. We'll see what the next week brings. Sleep is much improved.
Didn't lose a lb, but that's not the goal, just thought it would be a by-product. I've been pigging out on smokehouse almonds at work though, so that's probably the reason.
Good luck week 2 to all the sober october boys.I'm just a white guy from the future, I'm completely out of touch

Wasn't gonna post an update for a few days minimum but this thread was poppin'.
Down 7 pounds compared to October 1st. Weighed in at 164.0 lbs this AM.
2 days ago 10/6 I was really busy with work and kinda forgot to eat a lot. Think I was 700-800 Cals short of my Calories per day. Calling the day 100% cuz my Caloric goal really is a deficit anyways.
Yesterday 10/7 I actually woke up really late and skipped the gym cuz of it. Under ate by like 300-400 Calories unintentionally again, got busy with stuff/work.
Today I'm going good too.
I think my weight loss is attributed to undereating a bit more than intended, water weight, consistent exercise, etc. I'll say I do feel a bit weaker/tired, but I'm eating closer to my Caloric number tonight.Last edited by Visel; 10-08-2022 at 07:16 PM.

In. I’m at a bit over a week, and my weight has been dropping almost every day. I’m sure a lot of it was bloat, but some is definitely fat, as I was getting about half of my calories from alcohol. For some reason, I’m not as hungry anymore either. Looking forward to the end result of this.
I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

Although I am still watching my Calories, I've found that I can eat more junk food now while still getting full and achieving a deficit. Definitely a major perk of eliminating alcohol from your diet.
I weighed in at 164.2 lbs this morning 10/10, compared to 171.0 lbs from 10/01.r9 5900x stock | 1800mhz fclock

Fell off a little on some of the goals, but not everything, still avoiding alcohol and tobacco successfully at least.
Monday was close to perfect, I struggle with the idea of fapping once a week clearly, and Uber Eats / takeout is more tempting than what I've got going on in the kitchen. Still meeting Caloric goals though.
Tuesday I had to work lots of overtime, this wrecked my sleep schedule and I missed the gym.
Today on Wednesday I woke up 3-4 hours later than I wanted to, so the gym won't happen. I will possibly get restaurant food again.
I'm at 164.4 lbs both yesterday and today. Hoping next week (10/17ish) I'll be a little closer to the 160 mark. And then the rest of the month I'm hoping to slowly get towards 155.
Cutting out alcohol, sticking to a deficit, and working out, makes quick gains that first week, in part due to water weight. Things get more gradual afterwards.
I do miss drinking every now and then. But this is partially because it gets me to go out and do something at a bar or venue. I bought a "Sober October" T-shirt that I plan to wear at a bar this weekend while watching NFL/MMA, I won't be drinking and people who I know that like to encourage drinks at those things will hopefully get the message lol.
I'm enjoying the obvious lack of hangovers, saving some money, ease of reaching Caloric goals. Weed has been something to help distract me at the cost of zero Calories.
I haven't decided how I'm going to approach November. Probably gonna set a limit of a number of drinks and/or type of drinks per drinking day, and solely drink once a week regardless of the agenda or activities (IE: if homies are planning a get together on a Saturday, and I want to drink Friday, then I'll skip Friday).r9 5900x stock | 1800mhz fclock

Sitting on a plane in first class to Amsterdam…sober. Not gonna lie it’s kind of depressing. I used to get absolutely loaded every single flight.

Thanks for the tip, I sat and multi-task-watched about 85% of it. Very interesting stuff. So even if you are a low-moderate drinker - 1-2 drinks a day, or 7-14 a week, including even if you solely drink your 7-14 in a single day or over any combination of # of days in a given week, you will receive tangible negative impacts to your body and brain.
Maybe the ideal instead is to drink your 7-14 over a course of a 2 weeks period, instead of 1 week. Though it's optimal to drink zero.r9 5900x stock | 1800mhz fclock
