Unhappy Help please! Facial water retention after walking/running

Hello, new here! I’ve been having water retention problems for the past few months and really could use some help. So, in the beginning of the year I started a low sodium diet to reduce water retention, because I wanted a thinner face, and I also started jogging. I noticed for the first few months, it was working! After jogging and sweating a lot, water retention on my face, especially my jaw area would go down and my face looked much better.

However, a few months ago, the opposite started happening. After exercise, my face would swell up with water retention, which is the exact opposite of what use to happen. I’m so frustrated and my self esteem is lowering.

I thought maybe it was because I was eating too little sodium and it backfired on my body, so I raised my sodium intake, but the effect was still the same, after cardio my face would swell instead of thin out. It seems as though my body has turned on me.

Any ideas what’s happening? Should I go see a doctor? And if so, which specialist would be best?
