Also kinda crazy that this looks so early on but it already looks like it has better character models than gta v ... When Rockstar decide to give us a trailer it's probably gonna be pretty damn insane looking - If development is hopefully next gen only and not cross-gen ... But I have a strong feeling rockstar is gonna make this game cross-gen because they're not gonna leave behind that ps4/xbone audience money.

Lookin through the videos, it’s interesting that uncharted 2 came out came out in 2009 and has better character animations than this. You’d think that 10+ years of physics/engine improvements would make most AAA games match/surpass U2 but here we are, enjoying 8k with meh movement

But yeah, if this is legit, then it confirms the concerns about there being no way in a frozen hellscape that the female protagonist they'd go with would be remotely believable. She's even shorter than most NPCs for god's sake.

There's Private Vasquez... and then there's Down With The Thiccness backup dancer.

Then there's the most generic looking white dude protag who looks like his name is either Chet, Dylan, Troy, Hunter, or Trevor, but the latter was already taken in GTA V. Guy looks like a bloody NPC.

For real though, if those first two really are our player characters, then I'll say it again: Just give us a character creation like GTA:O and call it a day instead of trying to appeal to a world that has already gone full retard. Hell, the character could carry over, maybe even make it so you have to start a new character/campaign if you want to make a new one for GTA:O ( ), which would be right up those greedy pricks' alley.

Obligatory, "it's a pre-pre-alpha, it's leaked test footage, yada yada yada," but yeah, it's still pretty poor looking, which is why I am a bit skeptical about something being off about this. It just doesn't look next current gen in any facet despite being a leaked pre-alpha or whatever; I would find it more believable that this was something expanding on the enhanced edition for the PS5/Xbox SS/SX.

It's just odd because for whatever reason, Rockstar seems to have been prioritizing things like animations over gameplay that doesn't feel like it's a decade behind.

This is making me realize how much gaming has stagnated over the past decade especially. Like take a look at how GTA4 still manages to look better and more sophisticated than GTAV in many ways. I think we really hit a high note in terms of progression back in that PS3/360 era, and everything since then has been more like minor improvements focused on performance gains.

That was a different era though, companies were a lot more willing to listen to legitimate criticism. Now everything is tailored around specific focus groups.

I don't mind the setting, but I was hoping for a huge downtown metropolis area. I just miss weaving my helicopter in and out of skyscrapers like in GTA4, and was hoping for a much larger downtown map area to do that in. Like Tokyo or something.

So true. Now that I can play Xbox 360 games with enhanced graphics, it's become very apparent to me how gaming was truly peaking in that 00's era, and the kind of games we were getting in that PS3/360 era still stand up to the games we are getting today, in fact with X enhancement and FPS boots some of these old games look better than a lot of new games.

Agreed with that part. I don't expect this at all, but I also wish they would add destruction. Imagine the rockets you fire into buildings actually damage them and you could bring a skyscraper down. Not sure how that would work for multiplayer though, they'd have to reset the map every so often or lobbies would just end up being piles of rubble everywhere.

Funny how features we had in games like Red Faction 2 for the PS2 and Red Faction Guerrilla PS3 is now a next gen feature that we are dreaming about.

Those were USP's for those games though. Like a core mechanic for the game. Kinda retarded it's like saying you even have tyre heat physics in Forza 7 why don't we have that in GTA? No game is ever going to have every core mechanic of every game that has existed.

I wonder when all games will have destructible environments. It looks cool in RS Siege, BF and Vanguard. You could literally dig tunnels in the wall in Red Faction in 2001.

I hope that isn't the real female protagonist. I just can't see someone who looks like her committing GTA type crimes. Also, I saw a video clip on twitter and one of the characters is talking about Life Invader. Is this game going to be filled with the same stale crap as GTA V? There's nothing about this leak that makes me excited about the game. I'm worried they're going to screw it up.
