It calls to me hard, despite the now olden day tech and it basically being an 8 year old design.

My girlfriends dad has one cause he's old and couldn't get in and out of a car anymore easily so he went with a macan. I don't know the trims well but it's one of the higher ones I believe.
It's a fun car, it's quick, it's pretty nice inside. I've driven it a few times.
It felt pretty forgettable tho. I didn't really feel the excitement of "oh **** I'm in a porsche". Didn't feel very different then my gfs audi q5Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

Macan is a good all-around vehicle, but the biggest downside is the type of person who buys it
It's an inexpensive Porsche that attracts hairdressers, yoga instructors, stay-at-home karens, etc. who want to look cute and show off their cool Porsche. There's not much other reason to want the Macan other than it being a Porsche, and by buying one you will immediately be lumped in with the rest of the karens from yoga class
People who drive Macans strike me as tryhards (srs) as if the only reason for choosing their car was to receive attention from others. Similar car to the CLA250

I almost bought one and looked into them for 3 months, my opinion is they look EXTREMELY OUTdated,
The inside is as boring as sand, there is nothing to it, it’s ugly on the outside, just as in the inside
Performance wise along with the Porsche name is only thing keeping it going.
The maintenance on them is a nightmare, you will regret if it breaks down $ wise, and they ALWAYS have mechanical issues while same time cost a ton of money to maintain
I’ve owned over 20 cars,
Mercedes, bmw, dodge, Ford, jeep, list goes on. But I’ve yet been able to pull the trigger on a Porsche
I bought the x4m competition package, if you like the macan get this and thank me later, much much better quality and practical on maintaining yet still classyEating "clean" doesn't mean eating "healthy"

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Yeah just wild stepping into a recent model car with a CD player and a key. that you turn etc.
Had another look on the weekend and the back seat is an issue. I sometimes have to drive teenage kids around and if you are over 5'10 like them your head is literally touching the roof.

I had one as a loaner from the dealership. I'd go with a gts or turbo if possible. You'll get a lot more performance out of those. It was a good car, I prefer the cayenne. The higher trims have excellent performance

Thought they were cool when they first came out. Saw one in person and thought they were the most boring luxury SUV I'd ever seen. Could have passed as a Nissan Rogue.

It depends on what you want / need it for. Are you looking at brand new? The old ones look... outdated & old. & you gotta go for the S. I was looking at them back in march sometime when I was looking to replace my daily. I needed space to put crates in the back & move dogs (I volunteer for a local rescue) & I needed something that was capable of towing my boat so the Macan was out.
I then looked at the Cayennes but after picking the specs I wanted I didn't think it was worth the $ esp since their tech feels so outdated so I ultimately went with an X5. Really hard to find a company that tops bmw's infotainment.
Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Porsche groupie but I think only with their sports cars. I've been stalking BAT for their GT4's.R 1 35

The thing I hate about them is that front fender gap. Some of the colors pop though. What's your budget? There's a ton of crossovers/SUVs in this space for just about anything you're looking for. If you're going to go foreign, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio would likely have the same maintenance costs and issues, which is likely a lot, with that would be options for a ton more power and they look a lot better. Jaguar makes a nice looking F-Pace, honestly probably the best looking crossover with full options. Then there's the Audi Q8, BMW X3 or X5, Acura RDX and MDX, Lexus NX300 or NX450 or NX450h, Genesis GV60, Volvo G60. Almost all of those are likely better than the Macan, and I'd personally consider all of them over the Macan.

I've got a macan s in dark blue with the multispoke wheels for the wife, and its super nice vehicle. Fit and finish is much better than lots of competitors and its a much better drivers vehicle. The only con is that its a bit tight inside, but since its only the two of us I don't mind, plus its usually the vehicle we take out to dinners and functions since my truck is just a work truck. Also one of the biggest reasons was resale value, the macan holds its value a lot better than lots of other suvs
^^^ Only other vehicles I would consider is the Q8, X3/x5 the rest of the those do not compare to the performance and/or fit of the porsche. F-Pace interior quality is horrible
Really depends on what you want to do with the truck OP
