They were bred for aggressiveness. Its like raising a wolf, bob cat or chimp. You might get lucky but it could flip at any moment.

Disposition
Displacement
Temperment
It's bread into these animals and would likely take thousands of years to breed out.
"He's never done anything like that before"....hear it all the time. It's in their nature and you don't know when they will flip.
The entire breed should be terminated as they are good for nothing these days.

You're right. Asides from basic training it shouldn't be necessary for all of that to the extent required simply as a means of precautionary measures in the event of dangerous aggressiveness that is known in pitbulls.
Like I said, it is not 100% certain that a pitbull will not attack. It is still taking a chance even if trained and precautionary measures met.

Dobermans are one of the smartest dog breeds out there. They can be trained to be extremely well behaved. People are just stupid and think they are aggressive for no particular reason.
I have a family member with two of them and they are some of the biggest clowns out there, they are basically like a boxer just a little bit bigger.“No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training…what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”
