Exclamation [Poll] Do you feel highly energized before your workout?

    Hi -

I've been having fatigue problems over the years from working too much. Doing better. Just curious how you feel before your workout. Last Friday, I felt pumped before my workout (did nothing to create that state of being), and I had a great workout. Today, I felt kinda lethargic and just barely made it through.

Oh...and if you do struggle...what have you done to increase your energy?

I'm always somewhat tired but I don't need to force myself. Needing to force yourself is a mental hurdle, not physical.
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Same, always feel a bit tired but it's not a "struggle". The work out itself increases my energy.

If health, nutrition & sleep are decent, regular lethargy for people before and during a workout is usually just laziness.

It depends on the time of day. When I use to workout during lunch, I was 'raring and ready to go'. Now that I mostly lift first thing in the morning, I am typically 'Somewhat tired and forcing myself'. Usually 10 minutes into the workout though, I am more awake and more into it.

I always go to the gym right after work so I feel a bit tired, but never unmotivated.

The tired bit is easily cured by taking pre-workout.

I plan my workout routines before I work out. That energizes me for my workouts regardless of what time of day I exercise.
How can you visualize training a muscle if you don't know its structure?

I generally do the same, but I’m more of spur of the moment type lifter. I sometimes don’t plan (in my head) what I’m gonna do until the day of or maybe the day before.

I’m the type in which once I decide what I’m gonna do, I will move heaven and hell to get it done.

Today I was tired all day from the weeks lifting. I realized I didn’t do any curls this week, I immediately knew I was gonna do a 40+ rep barbell curl set (1-set). I did 42 reps, I’m not so tired anymore today.

In the early stages of a mesocycle, yes, very energetic. Later on, towards the end, more neutral - maybe the odd bad day when I just don't feel like it at all. Time to deload.

I usually eat 3 cans of soups before my workout. Today, I ate 3 bananas instead. Had so much more energy. The calories are about the same though. Like, usually, I do 5 sets of 8 reps of shoulder press 160 lbs then 4 sets of 5 pull ups. Today, I did the shoulder press and still could have gone more. And today, I did 3 sets of pull ups but 9, 8, 5 reps. I could have gone more than 9 on the 1st set. It is just that my gym's pull up bar is very thin, and my hands hurt.
