Yep, the human body can heal itself from a lot of stuff if given the chance. Even smokers who quit smoking, your lungs will slowly repair themselves. The only “really bad” things that you ate are things like artificial trans fats, certain heavy metals etc. but its better to start as early as possible to avoid additive stress etc.

Nah there's still plenty of time. I'm in a similar boat. I was never an unhealthy eater, but I've been about 25 lbs overweight for the last 2 years. I've lost 7 lbs so far after a week of fasting and dieting. Will continue until I hit my target weight, then I will eat light during the week and have a cheat day on the weekend.

no. the body is extremely resilient (and fragile at the same time).
food is very important. take care of your gut. there are studies out there linking gut health to brain health.
