i'm trying not to judge too quickly here as a lifelong Dodge buyer. this could be something we look back at and laugh at though.

it's a move where you're either witnessing the dawn of a new era, or the beginning of the end of the brand. i have no idea how i feel about an electric car that plays audio sounding like an engine. honestly not sure what that's supposed to sound like, is it mimicking the hellcat?

in comparison to other electric cars it does look pretty cool.

All they had to do was put the AWD platform in the hellcat. Jeep and Durango use it just fine with hellcat engines. AWD in the challenger or Charger would RIP!

The people who buy chargers today buy it for one reason... The engine. The interior sucks. It's not really a canyon carver.

Theres like two types of customers for chargers: people who love Mopar, and hood rats. Hood rats aren't buying evs, and Mopar guys will probably continue to seek out v8s. Maybe a few will go for the charger ev just cause charger.

I think they should have done what Ford did with the Mustang. Make an ev version thats a crossover for all the mom wagon needs, and continue with the V8 trims.

I think dodge is fukkin up, a refreshed V8 charger would have been a real gem these days.

i am very tempted to do something here but the money just makes absolutely no sense. i have a SRT392 in perfect shape and with 30k miles on it, i've had it for 5-6 years now. do i really want to let that go and get a '23 brand new?

the SRT is paid off and performs great so if i were to do this I'd want a serious step up, which means a Cat or a Redeye (80-90k easily new). just hard to imagine signing up for that without completely turning my brain off.

wouldn't be possible without major redesign. with its large low hung engine there is zero room for a front diff and axles. they would essentially have to make a brand new car from the ground up, and even then it might end up driving worse.

He said' Gey your orders in now". In other words "Act now"

It's almost like a sales pitch. What they will do is use this to boost sales. Push demand. LOL at dealer markups. Then they will make the EV 2024 Challenger. If people aren't happy they will "brought back by popular demand" but if they don't, they will have sold a lot in the mean time.

I sincerely doubt once they retool for EV vehicles they would go back and do up a whole vehicle plant for ICE motors again. Especially since the government is pushing hard for EV future.
