F*cking EV garbage. At least the Charger has 2 doors again. Only good thing to say about it. The rear lights are reminiscent of the 66 and 67 Chargers.
Fake engine noise sounds like a cat getting rap3d.

I hope this lousy chit doesn't take off. Maybe when Trump comes back and gas is back under $2 we can go back to laughing at this nightmare becoming a reality.

Have fun being stuck in the city. EV garbage is being implemented terribly.

i'm trying not to judge too quickly here as a lifelong Dodge buyer. this could be something we look back at and laugh at though.
it's a move where you're either witnessing the dawn of a new era, or the beginning of the end of the brand. i have no idea how i feel about an electric car that plays audio sounding like an engine. honestly not sure what that's supposed to sound like, is it mimicking the hellcat?
in comparison to other electric cars it does look pretty cool.
edit - a little homework and i see the sounds are actually more legitimate than i thought
āDodge is giving the Charger Daytona a real exhaust system called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which uses tuning chambers and an amplifier at the back of the car to enhance the powertrain's natural noises.āLast edited by Murph0408; 08-22-2022 at 08:33 AM.

I just don't get it but I guess we'll see.
The people who buy chargers today buy it for one reason... The engine. The interior sucks. It's not really a canyon carver.
Theres like two types of customers for chargers: people who love Mopar, and hood rats. Hood rats aren't buying evs, and Mopar guys will probably continue to seek out v8s. Maybe a few will go for the charger ev just cause charger.
I think they should have done what Ford did with the Mustang. Make an ev version thats a crossover for all the mom wagon needs, and continue with the V8 trims.
I think dodge is fukkin up, a refreshed V8 charger would have been a real gem these days.Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

i am very tempted to do something here but the money just makes absolutely no sense. i have a SRT392 in perfect shape and with 30k miles on it, i've had it for 5-6 years now. do i really want to let that go and get a '23 brand new?
the SRT is paid off and performs great so if i were to do this I'd want a serious step up, which means a Cat or a Redeye (80-90k easily new). just hard to imagine signing up for that without completely turning my brain off.

Eh, it's already 1/2 a ton overweight. AWD isn't going to help matters. Then turning radius will likely be severely impacted.
Fuk EV for muscle cars. It's a huge mistake. Hybrid or ICE only. EV muscle car isn't a even a muscle car. It's supposed to be huge displacement and unmatched sound. What's the fukin point otherwise?ā ā ā A State of Trance Crew ā ā ā

Looks cool, fake noise is super lame tho. If you're going EV, just make it a zooming rocket.

The sound it makes is such a joke. So corny, it's almost too corny to be serious. Then I saw this vid where the CFO of Chrysler was talking about how the last Hemi Charger/Challengers would be made in 2023 so we better get our orders in because once they stop they will never make them again. He said' Gey your orders in now". In other words "Act now"
It's almost like a sales pitch. What they will do is use this to boost sales. Push demand. LOL at dealer markups. Then they will make the EV 2024 Challenger. If people aren't happy they will "brought back by popular demand" but if they don't, they will have sold a lot in the mean time.
