What supplements should us old people take besides a cheap generic vitamin?

    Is there better vitamins?

Nothing is mandatory but a high quality multi and fish oil (Nordic Ulimate Omega) is a good start.

Most important is your diet. No supplements will make up for poor decisions there.

This. Diet will be king over any supplement. With that said, multi, fish oil, coq10, extra vitamin D, zinc is what I would recommend.

You don't know for certain if a supplement is working until you stop taking it.

I'm in my 50's in my avatar but 54 now and am on DIM and Macuna Pruriens for life. I do not know why they work, just that they work as I started falling apart weeks after stopping. Started taking them again and back to normal.

Bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable unto all things.

Had a book published last year available at www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-uncovering-acogah-swann/1139966609 if anyone wants to learn about the Christian faith in an entertaining way then here is the free pdf version:

Any recommendations on brands/dosage for both?

I personally like Orange Triad and every so often BB.com has them on sale. What hooked me on them is that after workouts, I'd notice a little inflammation and soreness on my joints. Orange Triad is probably one of the few supplements that I noticed less joint pain after my workouts. Of course, it could just be all in my head, but even if it is, I've found my supplement. As everyone else has said, nothing can ever replace a good diet, but the right supplement can help bridge the gaps. Also, as always, it's good to consult your doctor especially if you're on any medications.

What did you notice from DIM? I was taking it as a precautionary measure while on my booster and stopped only because it raised my TSH. I went from 1.8 to 2.9! Didn’t do a full thyroid panel and I noticed no difference in how I felt but got a bit freaked out, can’t find any info on why it would have done that.

D3 with k2, check blood after 6 months to see where you’re at. I like to hover around 80 as a sweet spot based on the research. My doc wants ALL of his patients above 55 also.

    OP,

Keep your protein intake moderately high, also adding some creatine and BCAAs to the mix would beneficial as well
