The homeless population in all big cities is increasing ten fold. You can't walk around in any major city without some undesirable bothering you.
It is going to get much worse with all the evictions and Fetanyl coming across the border.
What is the solution to the homeless crisis?
In my opinion, most are lazy scum.

You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

Put them all on a giant freighter and ship them to like India and just leave them
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Not everyone is homeless for the same reason. One problem is due to a lack of places to rent. Democrat run cities that have rent control laws tends to make the homeless problem worse. If rent control laws were done away with, more places would become available to rent. Course rent control laws tend to be popular with many so doubt they will be done away with.
Another homeless issue for some is mental illness. It used to be that if you were mentally ill and unable to care for yourself the state or your family would place you into an asylum to be taken care of.
Then in the 60s and 70s governments began to do away with asylums. Instead it was said that drug companies will create drugs that solve mental illness.
Course this has turned out to not be true. Drugs do not solve most mental illnesses. So for those who are mentally ill, homeless, with families unable to care for them, the solution is to begin rebuilding our mental health facilities to house and care for those who are not able to do so.

Preferable to eating bugs, would really have to boil all the disease and toxins out first though.

In the longer term-
Increase wages and/or reduce rents:
40% of all households that are not current on their rent say they are likely to be evicted or foreclosed within the next two months. This represents about 5.4 million households, according to the report.
And as we have documented on this site many times over, people are now turning to debt to try and cover their costs - including their housing costs. Credit card balances were up $46 billion in Q2 of this year and 30% of Americans have admitted to using credit cards or loans to meet "spending needs in the prior week". This number was up from 23% in early January.

Create more mental health facilities:
"In 1955 in America there was 340 inpatient beds for people with mental health issues per 100,000 people. In 2007 it was 17 beds per 100,000."
Immediately?
- organized "camping" areas with some sort of fencing/security cameras/water taps and port a johns
- fund the damn food banks already to give people being pinched by high rents someplace to turn to for relief in their budgets

Hey, here's a thought...instead of spending more billions to Ukraine how about let's stabilize the economic situation in our own country? Maybe prevent more people from falling into homelessness?
The cost of rent in the U.S. is moving higher at the highest pace in three decades, the report notes, blowing past a median of $2,000 per month for the first time ever. Rents are now above where they were prior to the pandemic in most major cities.
Areas just outside cities, which saw a large influx of new renters during the pandemic, have seen their rents rise disproportionately higher. People returning to large cities, post-pandemic, have also not helped prices cool off.
Kate Reynolds, principal policy associate at the Washington-based Urban Institute, said: “It’s pretty much the perfect storm for renters right now. Those renters and their landlords don’t have a place to turn if they’re unable to pay the rent.â€
At the same time, renters are trying to cope with the affects of inflation nearly everywhere else in their lives.
Posted previously that one of the 2 mega food banks in DFW is burning through $1 million a month right now and have had to reduce the amount of food that they give to each family by half because they have such a high demand. I promise the food banks aren't handing out high dollar fancy foods either.Last edited by katya422; 08-15-2022 at 08:12 AM.

Re-education programs on their first offense. If they still continue to use drugs, etc, they must be sent to some sort of institution (basically a prison) where they must be forced to do something productive for society. Homeless people are largely mentally challegened srs. There used to be asylums they would be sent to, but insane asylums were shuddered years ago. They need to bring those programs back.
Also, Narcan and methods used to "save" drug addicts need to be immediately banned. We should not be spending money on resources to further anyones life that is hooked on drugs. This fool's running a Honda 2000
