I feel a lot of people fraud how many calories they eat each day. serious.

Im 6'1 210-215 fluctiation and lean

I go to the gym 4x per week and do a cardio-intensive activity 2-3 days a week for an hour

I eat 2.5k-3.5k calories per day. I don't track anymore cause Im trying to bulk

blows my mind when I hear swimmers or NFL players, strongmen eatink 7k, 8k ,10k calories per day

average sedentary American is 5'9 200lbs and 5'4 170lbs. how da fukk do you need more than 2k when all you do is walk the fridge and to your car to go to work

even Larry Wheels one of the p4p strongest men in the world at sub 7% 275lbs 6'1 eats only 5k/day when he was trying to bulk to 300lbs in preparation for strongman

    900lb squat no suit

you work a non labor intense job and are a officell. you cant compare how many calories you burn on a typical bro split to athletes at the top of their spots. their jobs are to constantly train, you just do it as a hobby.

I definitely agree. I think the most I've ever gotten to is around 5-5.5K and it was miserable. Even guys like Thor and Eddie Hall struggle to get in the necessary calories in and those guys were 400+ pounds at their highest weight.

Most people have no idea how much food 5k calories of food is (clean food at least).

I agree 100% with the type of food you consume

Ive noticed that more complex carbs and lean proteins (fish, beef, chicken, etc.) I eat the less food I need to eat to maintain my physique and strength

a lot of idiots eat garbage and end up shtting out all the nutrients they consume. then claim they need 4-5k/day. if they cleaned up their diet they'd only need 3k

    I love these people.

1.) The salad has crispy chicken strips on it, and a cup of ranch dressing
2.) They had two starbucks/dunkin lattes loaded with sugar/cream and other miscellaneous ****.

I don't think you appreciate what intense athletic training is like. Yes, 6k-8k calories, or more, is not exaggerating or mistaken that is normal at that level of training. They have top caliber sports trainers and dieticians working full time with those athletic programs.

    It goes both ways

Obese people saying they eat as little as everyone else, but they’re not counting the pint of Ben and Jerry’s, or the midnight little Caesar’s snack

They’re claiming to eat <= 2000 but in reality are eating >= 3000

    ===
Another way is not counting every day, and on the days they’re tracking they are eating how they want to. Then on days they aren’t tracking their diet is counterproductive to their goals

We all know the 150lb guy who claims he eats 5000 calories and still isn’t gaining weight, while posting a days worth of eating. He may be eating 5000 on the days he’s tracking, but then only eating 1200 on days he’s not tracking
    Best lifts:

    Squat: 465x1

Stan efferding proved this with brian shaw and larry wheels who he managed their diets

he made them eat a complex carb (white/brown rice. brown is ideal) then they ate steak which raises test and is a lean protein

they both could eat less food and maintain more muscle.

Don't forget how much the average American/1st world officecel is consuming in beverage calories, unhealthy snacks etc.

Bodybuilders trying to eat clean for gains/aesthetics have to maintain a much stricter diet. A lot of those Starbucks treat drinks are 500cals a piece and an obese admin I used to work with went 2x a day srs

    Yeah

I cringe when I hear people joke about how much they eat etc

The people that do eat a lot don’t go around saying how much

Worked with a 5’3 mega Manlet
He was like 110 lbs soaked

Would always say **** like what’s for lunch and ****
Always made sure we would see him eat
Would always tell us what he had for dinner and how over the weekend he ate like 20 tacos in one sitting

He would get hot when I said “it depends on the tacos” like how filled were they and what was inside

I would calculate the calories he would eat by his lunch and what he told me he ate yesterday

    My guess was like 2000-2500

    Fukin lol

Before ankle surgery when I was trying to bulk to 200 (got to 196) I had to eat 5000-5400 calories per day to gain slowly; most of it was due to being very active at work, on my feet for 8-16 hours most days of the week with 15-20 pounds of equipment. NEET can add up very fast.

The truth is, most people have no idea what amount they are actually eating and just make numbers work/fit into what they want to beloieve.
Skinny people that cant gain muscle usually tell themselves they eat a ton so they have an excuse of why they "cant gain weight"
and fat people tend to way under estimate in order to have an excuse of why they "cant lose weight" or "barely eat and still gain weight"

Theres a study of trained nutritionists who are still off by like 25-30% of calories per day even when they are told they are being filmed and monitored for accuracy.

4 lbs of sirloin a day and, depending on the work out that day, rice and assorted veggies that comes out to around 5500 calories a day for maintenance crew checking in.

8-16 hours of manual labour burns far more calories than a lifting session and some cardio

I have seen Dwayne Johnson post what he eats and it's a massive amount of food and he is in the gym all day, on gear, trying to look giant for films.

So, he may be eating thousands of calls.

I have no idea what is reality, but Olympic athletes likely train all day, are probably on some kind of gear, and may eat huge amounts of calories.

What I don't get is when these people rest. You can't improve unless you rest.

I also saw a strongman documentary where the guy talked about what they eat, and it seemed really disgusting. These were "fat" type strongmen and they were explaining that they need the max amount of glucose in their muscles to do these feats and so they had to be fat like sumo wrestlers.

I think if you are eating a lot of fatty meats and things like cookies, you could get to 8k calls easily.

For instance, if you ate a package of oreos you've got 2,500 cals. I can think of normal people who can do that in a day.

One bagel (250 calories) with cream cheese (100 calories) was 350 calories; one bagel and 1 serving of cream cheese, so no. Put on a 20 pound weighted vest and walk for 10 hours, let me know how your calorie needs change.

This. Try working an active job, OP. You'll likely need over 3k to maintain if it's 20k+ steps. I had to religiously track my calories to ensure I was eating enough in eating disorder recovery. I had to eat over 5k at one point. It was fuking miserable eating so much, but I know it was accurate.

    I maintain at 5kcal at 200 8% BF.

I think it’s a lot to do with genetics.
Good genetics for muscle and you need to eat less.

Rn I’m 194, 13% BF and maintenance is like 3500.

But yeah unless you weigh and measure everything you eat, you don’t know.

The type of "food" has a lot to do with it. A typical pack of biscuits has around 1000 calories. I can end it in minutes with multiple glasses of whole milk
