The team behind the Deus Ex series apparently wants to bring the series back and show up CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077. The Deus Ex series is one of the most beloved sci-fi, cyberpunk-ish gaming franchises out there and it really found a lot of love with its most recent games, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Both games were received quite well by critics, but Square Enix was supposedly unhappy with the sales of the last game. Despite Eidos Montreal assuring fans that Deus Ex wasn't dead, the developer went to work on other games, such as the beloved Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy which also disappointed Square Enix sales-wise.
Nevertheless, it seems there may be more Deus Ex on the horizon. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, Eidos Montreal is interested in bringing back Deus Ex and using it to "do what Cyberpunk 2077 couldn't", which is a bold ambition given all of the aspirations CD Projekt Red and the community had for that game. What exactly Eidos Montreal wishes to specifically achieve is a bit unclear, as Cyberpunk 2077 was a very large game in scope and the Deus Ex franchise has always been semi-open world, typically opting for hub worlds instead of one big map. Nevertheless, it was noted that this ambition likely wouldn't be possible under Square Enix and the luxury may be afforded to Eidos Montreal by its new owner, Embracer Group.
As of right now, it remains unclear if or when Eidos Montreal will make a new Deus Ex game, but it sounds like if it's really happening, it's very early days. Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt since it's a rumor for an unannounced game. It's entirely possible Deus Ex will make a return, but things could change during development that result in the team not going in that direction. Either way, it's certainly an interesting prospect that would be exciting to see.

we'll see. Square Enix was not going to publish another Deus Ex title and they only sold Eidos + IP rights to the franchise very recently, so anything Eidos is doing right now is probably not even off the drawing board.

Good luck. I mean I love Deus Ex games but they got a completely different feel. Their games have always been more like a Skyrim sort of experience where all the NPC's are characters that live in the world, and when you kill them they don't respawn. The worlds always felt a lot smaller though, I guess giving it more of a classic Bioware RPG sort of feel where you travel between zones. Anyway you put it, their games have never been anything as ambitious as the open world they created for Cyberpunk.
I think where they could succeed is in simply having a more focused game that plays more like, you know, Deus Ex. Cyberpunk was something that struggled to get anywhere due to it's own ambition, trying to chase after that would be foolish.

I liked Deus Ex 1 the original one way back in the day but for some reason I just couldn't get into the newer ones. I felt like they gave you options, or even leaned more towards stealth/non-lethal but I guess I just sucked at it and always got caught and could never fight my way out.
I need to revisit them.

You can. **** is literally on steam. There are a few really popular mods too. Might be a compatibility mod or two out there if necessary...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/6..._Year_Edition/
HR/MD pissed me off cause I didn't want to be a homo walking around knocking people unconscious. What kind of game with guns encourages you to be a fruitcake pressing Q to knock people out. Only thing I could figure out to do was to knock them out and then put a bullet in their skull when they were dead. But yeah, one thing that sucked in HR/MD is they encouraged you to play a certain way while the first one didn't care if you were ****ing rambo gunning down 50 MJ12 soldiers or a 4chan autist hacking shyt and never making any social contact at all
Also HR/MD legit had too much shallow content. There are only so many shyt computers with 50 credits or safes with an energy bar that just waste your time even breaking in. I like hidden secrets but the amount of shyt content to good content was really skewedSniff hard as fuk when guys pass by to smell their balls crew
Don't know how to hold arms when walking crew
Has to use a soundboard to order pizza crew
Order pizza and lower money from second floor in bucket crew
Bodybuilders against lifting crew
