I started going back to the gym 45 days ago after years of neglect. I'm an all or nothing type person so I dove in head first and haven't really looked back. I'm 5'7 and weighed 265 on day one.
I've cut all the calories, besides a bad meal every other week, normal budget is around 1,750 which I rarely exceed. Currently sitting at 236 and feel much better, though my goal is to get to 160. I'm training 6 days a week, resistance 4 days a week with two 15 minute cardio mixed in + 3 days of an hour of very intense cardio (155+ average session). On Saturday's I stack a full resistance circuit + calisthenics + full cardio session together.
So far it has not had an adverse effect, but is this sustainable over the long term or can I work within this framework to increase the intensity as progress is made? I'm considering adding HIIT classes once my weight is manageable.
- 1,750 Calories/Day
- 3.5 Hours Intense Cardio/wk
- 6 Hours Resistance/wk
- 1 Hour Calisthenics/wk
