Something like this happened to one of my friends recently srs. He’s a young Black dude with a legit CCW. I guess he accidentally bumped into some urban youths at the corner store, said excuse me and the scumbag’s friends tried to press him like they were gonna jump him, calling him a bitch and all that. Could’ve ended badly.

All it took was one flash of the pistol for the pieces of chit to back off and apologize.

Not really, self defense laws are the same here as anywhere else. His issue would be if the gun was legal or not but since he was carrying one I think he may have been a retired cup or security. Very few people have carry licenses here.

Whether the laws are the same is only part of the equation (I’m also skeptical that self defense laws are the same in NY as anywhere else). DAs, judges and juries in different areas are going to dramatically influence the odds of being charged and convicted.
