    My high compression 565 has been dyno'd. Power numbers and video inside






    Pump E85 powered. Was expecting a little more power, but I'm happy making over 800tq at peak.

    What transmission and rear gears are you putting behind it?

    I do get the impression that something is choking it slightly up top - your comment on expecting more power is in line with this.

    No restrictions up top. I was expecting more power because my builder told me I should be in the 1000hp range. Without running a vacuum pump, a bigger cam, and a spacer, I got a reality check. I told him I wanted an engine that was going to be on the street and strip, so I had to compromise. I put my expectations too high, but I'm not going to complain about the power it makes. I'm eventually going to have it rebuilt to do a procharger, so it's more than enough until then.

    I'm running a TH400 and 3.50 gears with a locker

    Nice. What is your compression? I'm at 10.3 which is a good spot for pump 93. What block base makes a 565? Is it a stroker? EFI?

    Big Boy is making some steam... I make a little more than that to the tire with a big ass Whipple lulz. But you arent beating the driving experience of a 800hp+ N/A big block

    He's a nice and smart guy. He runs an e85 powered 598 in his camaro, he knew just how to build my carb.

    The 565 will stay N/A for a while, I have plans to lower the compression and throw boost at it in a couple years

    I used to work at a driveline shop with a dyno. Guys would bring in high dollar BBC boat motors all the time.

    That thing broke more hearts than a big titted redhead with daddy issues.

    How close was the carb out of the box? I spent good money on a pro systems e85 carb and it legit was a ****ing mess. No jet change helped was just so far off

    Didn't make any changes to the carb out of the box except set idle speed. My carb builder has a similar setup to mine, so he knew exactly what spec to build it to.
