I'm 47. I lifted extensively before lockdowns and I've not been able to get the groove back and I'm stuck in 'dad bod' territory I really wanna grow, but should I just accept my age?
If you think I shouldn't, would any guys with experience of bodybuilding at my age please make themselves known to the cabin manager? I'd love your inspiration and advice. Thanks in advance!

55 years old…still getting stronger at some lifts.
Just hit a nice 320x3 on bench, 400 pounds on SSB squats and did seated rows with 362 lbs for 5 reps.
47-48 is prime time boss!
Find my journal under the “workout programs” sections and you can see how I train, foods I eat, videos, all kinds of stuff going back to 2015."A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. It depends when you started. Someone 70 that just started at 69 will grow. Someone 70 that started at 20 and had size, they're getting smaller even though they still train unless they're on special vitamins or are an outlier which is rare.

Well said Sir!
I'm 75, restarted, after some number of decades, at age 73. I'll never be what I was at 35 but am pleasantly surprised at what did come about.
What started as a chore became quite pleasant. I found a routine I was comfortable with and that was relatively "safe" for my age. I didn't go "nuts" but I worked it hard enough to cross a threshold, a kinda "runners' high" if you will, a mental clarity. There was also a kinda cocktail lounge socialization to it as I bounced between workstations.
My original goal was just to be able to stay in my house a few more years. Now I'm climbing roofs to clear the gutters. The other day someone asked me if I was taking steroids. I had to laugh and I thanked him for the presumed compliment?Last edited by joewattie; 07-20-2022 at 04:33 AM.

As long as your T levels are in the normal physiological range (300-1000 ngl) you can build muscle. Doesn't really matter how old you are. It just may talk a little longer the older you get. They way you keep it high naturally is get enough sleep, eat clean and exercise. No TRT needed unless you have some sort of medical condition.
