I drink several times a year, but I plan on stopping altogether.
Tequila shots, michelada, whiskey & club soda, or champagne.► Intermediate Bodybuilding Classic Physique ► Renaissance Periodization Programming

Yes; beer (IPAs and German beer are the best, but I like most varieties) and neat bourbon are what I prefer the most, but I have tried the gamut. Coming out of the first half of my 20s, I feel like it's something I've had my fun with and that it's time to reduce consumption, even if I don't plan to quit altogether.

Very rarely
I think I drink maybe once every 6 months, or twice a year.
When I do, I have like 1-2 drinks.
This usually lands on someone's birthday, or a family reunion.
I typically have either craft beer, wine, or something like a gin and tonic... I also like moscow mules."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Usually a beer or two per week. Sometimes red wine. Sometimes a mixed drink, like a margarita when out at a mexican restaurant or sake bombs at a japanese place. Sometimes a rum and coke or old fashioned, depending on mood etc.

Rarely, probably 3-5 times a year on average. In 2020-2021 I went about 18 months without a single drink at all.
But now when I do its always sake or wine, or the occasional beer. All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.
Don't be upset with the results you didn't get from the work you did not do.

I like alcohol hence why I haven’t removed it completely from my diet, but there are many reasons why I try to limit is as much as I can:
1) Alcohol and protein synthesis don’t go well together (and this is the main reason).
2) I suffer from IBS and reflux, so alcohol is not my best friend (I’d rather give up on alcohol and allow myself more coffee and chocolate, even if they’re bad too in my conditions).
3) I have troubles sleeping well and for some reason even small amounts of alcohol mess with my sleep.
All these factors influence my wellbeing and energy levels, and consequently my training and my results at the gym (which is a priority to me).
That said, I still like to enjoy 1 drink or a glass of wine per week whether it’s red/white wine (during a meal) or a nice gin&tonic or aperol spritz. I only go a little overboard on special occasions or if I wanna drink more I simply watch my total calories.
Everything in moderation. But I still believe that lifting and drinking is a bad idea if you want to maximize muscle growth.#benchesmorethansquatcrew

Once a week I enjoy my liquor, usually Thursday since it's always been the one day of the week I never seem to work, day off or swapped off. Cut way back though, few shots and a beer or 2 while gaming before bed is enough.
Favorite is Mead, traditional honey is #1, from Drinking Horn; have to order it online and shipping kind of sucks, but so worth it.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

I work in IT. Had a coworker in the office, we got in by 6AM. If you came in at the same time as him and had to share an elevator with him to the top, your eyes would sting from the vodka fumes from his “breakfast”. Sometimes he would pass out in his truck on his lunchbreak in the parking garage. I am talking 6 figure jobs. Worked with him a few years but he left when he got a better job offer.

I had to give a random alcohol/drug screen to a refinery contractor yesterday. This was probably at 2 in the afternoon. The alcohol screen is a strip of paper that they put under their tongue to get some saliva on, then there is a reagent pad on the end of the strip that detects alcohol. The guy had been working in a refinery since 7am, and his strip showed positive. Retested him, positive. He had tobacco in his mouth. Told him to spit it out and wait 15 minutes. I showed him a rental house in those 15 minutes. Him and 3 other guys took it. Did the alcohol test again and it was negative.

It's interesting to me too how much some of the intelligent and competent people in my life drink without it seeming to affect them. On the other hand, it's also surprising how many people lose it when they're drunk and do and say stupid stuff, instead of merely having a pleasant buzz. That might just depend on the person in question, independent of whatever tolerance they have.

In my state, if you have a felony drug violation you go to jail. If you have children, the state takes them away. You get out of jail then you have to go through rehab. After rehab you have to take a weekly drug screen. I gave this guy and his wife a weekly drug screen for 18 months. Every now and then meth, opiates or THC would show up. But the state deemed him good enough to have his kids back and not take the drug screens anymore. Within 8 weeks he died from an overdose.
