Why ICE shouldn't be phased out

It seems as though the pendulum is swinging hard towards electric. I'm constantly hearing of models and even companies saying they'll be going full electric. Which is a damn shame imo. IDK what the car world will look like a decade from now.

What about the driving experience? Am I the only one that will miss it?

I think top tier hybrids are the ideal tbh, throw a smaller efficient ICE in there along with electric motors to get the best of both worlds and lower emissions

Is someone taking away your ICE cars? You can keep them, but more and more new cars are going to switch to electric.

I'm a huge car guy and I love my current ICE/hybrid, but I've got to say that driving with a powerful electric car is fun as fuk. Not having the engine noise is a bit of a letdown at first, but the driving experience is also incredible. Different, but not bad at all.

You can just have both, there is no need to be upset.

The real travesty is how some countries are forcing the switch too quickly, offering tax breaks for vehicles only the rich can buy and fukking over people who need to rely on older ICEs. I'm profiting from it right now so it's kind of hypocritical of me, but either stimulate so the average joe can buy into your new shet but giving the rich advantages whilst throwing extra fees and taxes on people with cheaper vehicles is... Problematic imo.

Anyway just buy your ICE now and you'll be able to drive it for however long you like. We still have 5-10 years of cool ICE's getting built.

If these ever come down in cost a bit, I'd like to get one. I imagine the next top tier Corvette will be a hybrid, which I'm fine with, as long as it has ICE and a seamless transmission.

They likely won't for a few decades has been said. Electric cars have no soul and no manual transmission option. Not to mention the US electric grid can't even support that many electric cars. Brb most people can't afford a $60k car either.

EU strikes deal to ban the sale of new diesel and gasoline cars from 2035

The EU’s plans to phase out the sale of new diesel and gasoline cars and vans took a big step forward this week after the European Council and European Parliament came to a provisional agreement on the issue.

“This extremely far-reaching decision is without precedent,” said Oliver Zipse, the CEO of BMW and chair of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Earlier this month, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares told CNBC it was “clear that the decision to ban pure ICEs is a purely dogmatic decision.”

Currently, electric cars are not really that good for the environment. With time, they could be much better. Battery tech and recycling capabilities have to improve.
