    Cybex Classic Selectorized Equipment Weights???

    Hi Folks:

    I just joined a gym that uses Cybex Classic Selectorized equipment. It's the "classic" stuff, not the newer Cybex gear. The weights in the stack are labeled with numbers (01, 02, 03. 04 etc). Can anyone tell me if each of these weights is 10 lbs or some consistent number? Does the numbering system vary by the piece of equipment or is it also always consistent (01 on chest press = xlbs, and 01 on the shoulder press is the identical weight?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I thought I had a picture of the manual or the page book marked but cannot locate either. There are several different sized cybex plates. A common one is:
    “ All weight stacks shall have (4” x 12” x 1”), 12 1/2 pound weights”
    I’ll keep looking for the weights of other sized plates.

    Look for a broker who sells used fitness equipment and has been around for a long time.

    The Cybex Classic selectorized equipment uses a different system than the newer Cybex selectorized equipment. All the numbers on Cybex Classic equipment are 10 lbs, which means the concept of “5 lbs increments” doesn’t really apply. So, if you are doing a set of chest presses with 135 lbs, you could also do the set with 125 lbs or even 115 lbs. Hope that helps!

    Generally speaking, these machines used 12-lb plates.

    I would post a picture from the cybex website but something is wrong with this website, access denied.
    9 pounds = 3 x 12”
    12.5 = 4 x 12”
    15 = 4 x 14”
    20 = 4 x 18”

    Top plates may weigh 10 pounds.
