I went for a blood test and received my total testosterone level at 297 ng/dl. My doctor refused to prescribe me anything due to the fact that it wasn’t below 250. He said it should be double that number for my age (26). I want to get a second opinion now.
Do you think this is affecting my ability to gain muscle? Any suggestions on what I should do?

It's definitely going to affect muscle, and possibly other things.
I'd get a second opinion and/or find a local HRT clinic; age management clinic etc... Those people are more inclined to help you as they believe more in quality of life than your PCP2017 OCB Men's Physique Open 4th place

I’d look into ALL options to avoid hormone replacement therapy.
How’d you sleep that week, did you have any alcohol, were you sick recently, how was your cholesterol, your vitamin D, etc.
It would take a book to reply in this one thread but I have found the site androgen hacker to be of great quality info without resorting to drugs.
There’s also a fantastic article you can read, guy shows how we went from 300’s to 700’s in 90 days with diet and lifestyle changes that were pretty simple.
Keep us updated!
