Hey All, I have a couple of questions regarding the topic in the subject line,
If I have been on a bulking phase for the last 7 months, and I have a dead line like a summer beach vacation, how long before such dead line would I want to start cutting to shade some of the extra fat? I suppose there are dependencies, but any general guide line would help.
Second question is the how... would I cut gradually? like 100 calories a week or go directly to maybe 600 less?
Currently I am at 300 above my maintenance need.

Without pics and specs (height and weight) to get an idea of bodyfat, it can be hard to tell. Do you have some available?
Anyway, I like to cut at 1lb per week. Which a deficit of ~500 cals per day will do this. And yes, I'd jump right in. But keep in mind that this is just a starting point. You need to be weighing yourself often so you know where you're at all this time; then make small adjustments from there.
If you know, roughly, how many lbs you need to lose to be at the condition you want to be in, just count the number of weeks at 1lb per week and...bingo
