Yes, canola oil has a high amount of omega-3 fatty acids. The body needs these nutrients for a variety of functions, including maintaining cell membranes and producing hormones. But the problem is not the omega-3!
There are a few potential dangers associated with canola oil. First, it is a highly processed food product that is extracted using harsh chemicals and high temperatures. This can cause the oil to lose some of its healthy properties and potentially create harmful compounds. Second, canola oil is a source of omega-6 fatty acids, which are pro-inflammatory. Too much omega-6 in the diet can lead to inflammation in the body. Finally, canola oil is high in unhealthy trans fats. These fats have been linked to heart disease, obesity, and other chronic health conditions."I'm not here to talk, I'm here to lift."

Some of your ideas are out of date. Some good source to check:
- 2020 systematic review on canola oil: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33127255/
- On omega 6: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ALm74EGs-K4
- The omega 3 in canola oil isn't actually very useful due to poor conversion from ALA to EPA/DHA.

That's consistent with my memory on it as well. There seems to be some unique benefits (I think maybe it was anti-oxidant or anti-inflammatory related) for ALA itself but the cardiovascular benefits seem mainly due to EPA, and to a lesser extent DHA which appears to particularly benefit brain health.

I actually don't use basically any oil for any purpose.... other than Algae-based n3 supplements.
I do have an avocado oil spray I use for non-stick situations and occasionally I use EVOO for light sautéing... but usually I get my fats from nuts/seeds/avocado/fish and trace amounts from certain grains like oats"When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Didn't see your comment.
Yeah, that too. I just mentioned olive oil as an easy example of a low saturated fat oil to use sparingly. I'd be chewing forever on dry food which would taste bland being nearly fatless, otherwise, as I can't see replacing all of that with avocado spread being a feasible alternative, for me.
I'm at an age where I ought to be more mindful and protective of my long term health in a way you can sort of get away with when you're college-aged, so I'll aim to improve my own fat sources some, even if I'm not going to give up red meat and dairy.Bench: 340

When I was in college there was a frat called Omega something or another. All the members had an Omega letter branded on their arm.
