For me it's Apex Legends.
I was literal ass at the game until Season 5. After returning from a hiatus, my playstyle has completely evolved with my movement and aim improving a lot. Now the frustrating thing about this is when you have a teammate that makes bad plays alone which just ruins the experience. But yeah, about 2000 hours later I've reached a point where I'm consistently good, even on my worse days.
My biggest achievement is finally becoming proficient with the Wingman.
But enough about my game. Is there a game that you finally got good at after hours of playing?

I'm usually pretty good at any game I put time into since I only really play mp. If I sucked I prob wouldn't play mp. Any shooter I get into I am going to slap. I dropped 20 bombs in Warzone regularly , had over 1k wins in fortnite, slapped in Pubg, was second highest rank solo climbing in overwatch on a throwaway hanzo only account. I slap fools in apex, I am the wingman. I played cod1 at the highest level on pc (cal-i baby) when I was like 14. Me and a kid from my team played the twl rifle only ladder 2v2 and sat at number 1 for like 2 years straight in cod 1. The other day I booted up bf1 for the first time in years out of boredom and was dropping 50 kills like I never even stopped playing. I am the classic fps Doug meme, "when you're born to play fps, there's nothing left to do but play fps"
If anything recently tho drifting on the racing sim clicked for me. I could barely drive 1000 hp rwd cars on assetto when I started on the sim but now I'm basically drift King japan. One day it just made sense to me and I stopped spinning out. The racing sim has turned into a gateway for me wanting a sports car irl and now I've been searching for a real life drift machine.
With all this being said that's why i basically don't find much excitement in playing single player games. It sounds super dumb but I feel like I'm too good at video games to enjoy playing against ai. This forum is filled with single player plebs tho so I expect all the soy boys won't understand.
Edit: I also thought I was really good at marvel vs Capcom then I played a miscer named msharingan and learned I was trashSometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

I am good at any shooting game srs.
Once I achieved global in CS:GO after years of playing cs, every other fps is just a matter of getting comfortable with the maps.
I am not bad at any particular game but League Of Legends is one of the more difficult to rank up for me. Stuck in Gold 3 and can't climbAlways pick 4 crew

Still the best MP ever made. It's surely the game I have the most hours into and increased my skill the most in. Best thing about TLoU was varried play styles and loadouts and being able to play how you want with the game remaining balanced. I always excelled and stealth and support roles and say for those I got good but I loved trying other play styles as well.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory had a co-op mode that was kind of clunky but me and my best friend got the hang of it by the 3rd mission...only to find out they only made 3 co-op missions

For me it was probably Gears of War 1. Our entire school was pretty much playing it 24/7 with the dawn of Xbox Live being mainstream with the 360. I remember I used to kinda just be below average at best. Then I learned how to use the Sniper (Longshot) to a degree where I'd be taking the sniper over every weapon in the game, even at close range. Started getting involved in competitive sniping and became ridiculous. I had montages and highlights on Youtube back in the day, it was great. But with Gears, it was critically important that you knew where the middle of your screen was, because that's where the bullets were fired. This eventually carried over into every other shooter like CoD and Halo. As the games developed more mechanics like bloom and random blindfires, I adapted with it. Next thing you know I'm a 5 Star General in Halo 3, and was 360 YY Ladder Stall Silent Noscoping kids across the map in Co with ease.

Black Ops 1 was the best I'd ever been at CoD consistent >2.0 K/D playing mainly TDM with a run n gun playstyle.

I was pretty good at warzone, but basically quit the game cause Caldera map is so bad and i'm burn't out on playing rebirth all the time
recently made my move to apex legends til warzone 2 comes out , silver III right now, but its hard to play solo with 90% of the time teammates that don't talk on microphones such. using Valkyrie and Ash. Apex legends ranked is definitely a game where you need a squad to succeed.
back in the days the OG counter-strike i was really good at. played in completive CAL leagues I went up to CAL-M, but i remember back in the day everyone claimed CAL-I and you used to diss people telling them they are CAL-o or MLG lol*** Free Thinker Crew ***

Runescape (srs)
The cost of entry to high level pvm is very high, death costs are expensive and start chewing through your hard earned in game money rapidly, the boss fights themselves function on a 20 year outdated tick system which means all your inputs are delayed and its up to you to compensate, it's full of Dps checks and instant kill mechanics, and the drop rates of the good rewards are often more than 1/1000
People say dark souls is hard but in Dark souls you aren't losing all your money that you spent 100s of hours getting by dying over and over to dodgy instant kill mechanics, there's a real time cost to dying in RS and that's why it's difficult, it's punishing.
I thought I'd never get past a certain level of combat in RS but some of the boss kills I've gotten have been so rewarding just from a "finally got that ****er" standpoint.

Probably games like Forza and Forza Horizon, heck just racing games in general. I can do well with more hardcore sims if I got a racing wheel, but without a wheel it's like trying to play FPS with a controller against guys using a keyboard and mouse.
Whenever I play any local multiplayer in a game like that's it's usually just not even fair. With the assists off like I usually have it most people are crashing into chit and spinning out left and right, shows how so many gamers are dependent upon assists these days. Even online I usually do well, not unusual for me to lead a group session.
That's the thing about gaming, nobody is good at everything and there's always some things people are better at than others.
