Do you eat without distraction?

Personally I rarely ever eat without reading, listening to, or watching something.... unless im out with people.

I usually either play a game or read if alone, have a conversation with whoever I'm with, or watch TV/movie. Probably everyone is like this.

If I’m alone the iPad is on the table in front of me with Fox News or some right wing nut job show on YouTube on. probably stems from reading the back of cereal boxes when I was little.

Usually watch tv/movie if alone. If out, i like to people watch and/or talk with whomever i am with. If I eat out alone I will scroll my phone to escape the awkward feeling of people staring at the loner.

I normally cook something and share it with the wife in the kitchen. It has a view of the living room and TV. That's 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time I'm out on a paper route and have no idea when I'll be home.

Never. We have a sofa table behind our couch that looks directly at the TV. I'll usually throw on a show/news/cast from YouTube and sit down to eat while watching. Also have a laptop I leave up here in case I have to attempt to do a little work.

The only exception for me while alone I think would be on vacations I would eat out on the balcony or something like that and just enjoy the view… but otherwise just sitting at a table in my house… naw.

I usually put on the news when I eat my dinner and listen to all the depressing stories from around the world.

At the weekend if we get takeout we will eat it with a movie.

Come to think of it, the only time we don't really watch TV when eating a meal is at Christmas, or if we have a roast dinner for Easter or something.

I'll sit infront of my laptop until I find a YouTube video to watch, even if my food is getting cold. Will never eat without a video. Netflix is too much of a commitment

I can’t eat and do anything that requires sustained attention like watching videos or listening to music, but I’ll scroll ******** or read articles or whatever. I need to be able to break my attention up into pieces, otherwise I’m either not tasting the food or not absorbing the media. But sustained attention things are hard in the first place. I don’t even watch shows let alone movies. Music usually only when walking or sitting on the bus.
