Was going to get it this week but a buddy of mine said that the reaction knocked him down for a couple of days..
I am not afraid of that and really want to get it but I am not willing to miss a couple of days of prime fishing because of some reaction bullsh!t.
If any of you had the shot any side effects worth mentioning?

I believe that Shingrix is a two-shot vaccine and costs $324 without insurance.
Its effectiveness lasts for 4 years.[]---[] Equipment crew member #51 []---[]

I had an actual case of shingles years ago and would NEVER want that to recur.
In my opinion, there is no negative “side effect” that can remotely compare with pain signals being directly injected into your nerves for days and days.
I did not notice any negative side effects with the Shingrix vaccine. At age 63, I've exceeded all my prior PRs. Not “over the hill” yet. :)

I got the Shingrix vaccine a couple of years ago. The first shot was horrible. Had the chills, a headache, achy like a really bad flu. Lasted a couple of days. The second shot a few months later was the opposite. No side effects at all. I would get the vaccine Pockets. Have you seen or know of someone who had the shingles on their face? Believe me, you don't want any part of that. Having it on your back or waist is bad enough. But on your face is a whole new kind of whoop ass. Get the vaccine.

Thanks for the info folks. appreciate it. Glad most of you never had any side effects.
Oh I am definitely getting it, that was never a question... I just didn't want to miss any time away from spring fishing if I have side effects.. As it turns out, the forecast changed for this week and they are calling for wind and rain for Thursday and Friday so Wednesday I will roll up my sleeve, (unless the weather changes) giving me 3 days to recover..
What you describe is what exactly what my buddy said, it put him down for a bit Thanks for letting me know.
Yep, I have seen it. A younger gal at my gym was missing for a few weeks because of it, she showed me.. Damn that was nasty AF
I have been meaning to get it for a while now..Put it off for too long. Now's the time.Air Force Veteran 1976 - 1999

Howdy O....
Sorry to hear that.
We haven't got the shingles vaxx yet and haven't heard a lot of hype about it here in the heartland.
Although, after yakking with the wifster a couple days ago she reminded me we did get it maybe <10 years ago and it cost about $200 buckaroos and insurance did not help at all.
My memory is a bit fuzzy on what we actually did.

Thanks to everyone who responded.. Much appreciated..
Well I got it done yesterday and I am now 19 hours post shot... here is what I experienced
4 hours post shot some tenderness in the Delt
8 hours post shot, it hit me pretty good, extreme fatigue, could hardly keep my eyes open, joint and muscle pain throughout the entire body that was just more annoying than anything.
10 hours post shot I gave up and hit the fart sack
19 hours post shot, arm is pretty tender, other than that I feel like a million bucks..
I still have another shot to go in 60 days...
All in all it wasn't very bad at all...
Get er done boys and girls, much easier than the shingles

There is more to my story, this weekend I had a 50 mile, 2 day 1 night hike planned and yesterday (19 hours post shot) I headed out. About 2 miles in I started to feel sh!tty again, of course I was in denial and trudged on, by mile 4 I started feeling really rotten, my arm was terrible and I thought I had a fever so I gave in and returned home..
I got home less than 24 hours post shot and sure as sh!t I had a fever and spent the day and night eating tylenol with hot and cold flashes with the shivers and a massive headache. I never get headaches, maybe only has 3 in my life.
42 hours post shot now, arm is still tender but not that bad, my fever broke last night and I still feel like I have a mild flu.
Being a vet, I have had a ton of vaccines nothing put me down like this fukker did. Yesterday was brutal..
Desperado, I found out what you meant by yours being horrible.
Corbi, I feel your wifes pain, good luck..
