It is ridiculously easy to sue US Police Depts

There are groups of people all over the country who go around doing annoying but perfectly legal activities, often in or near public buildings. When police respond, they almost universally demand ID and often arrest people for not providing it. Which are blatant violations of the 1st and 4th Amendments. Every cop should know this, but an astonishing number do not and get enraged when a citizens refuses to provide ID. Police departments are getting sued like crazy over this behavior. One department did it THREE times to the same dude, who they knew was just trying to provoke them, and paid a settlement after lawsuit every time. It is super easy to do. It is like the cops just cannot help themselves for some reason when it comes to getting ID's from people and will ruin their careers (not to mention violate the shyt out of your rights) over what 100% seems to just be a desire to force compliance on people for no legal reason. This is a see to believe.

Probably a common subset of police officers that pursued that profession because of their desire to exert control over other people. Very likely the same that beat the piss out of people, plant evidence, etc etc. They don’t care about the law, they only care about getting their jollies being azz holes and controlling other people.

That said, their ability to know who they are dealing with could potentially save someone’s life. At the same time it would infringe on someone’s rights to be stopped for no reason and forced to provide their “papers”.

She resigned after this based off of the video description. Apparently her brother was attacked by her sister-in-law, and that's what set her off. She was a school resource officer and then had an office position - lucky for her, as I bet if she was doing this on the streets prior to this she would have been canned way before. She is a nut.

There are a lot of cops that shouldn't be cops. But for every video like this one, you can see someone who lied about what the cop said or did and their body camera show the truth.
