Texas Power Gird getting REKT BIGLY AGAIN

Imagine living in Texas where you literally live like it's a 3rd world Chithole with no electricity and 120 degrees in Summer or way below freezing with no electricity, no fresh water, no indoor plumbing in Winter.
This is INEVITABLE when you have Conservatism and Deregulation.
How can you have This and That in the exact same place? What a Chithole State.
    Imagine Poorcells actually living there.

Kind of an odd flex considering that nearly half of the state you like to brag about is on fire right now.

Yes we should. At least one for each big metro area, even if they are owned/run by government.

In Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, high temperatures exceeded 100 °F (38 °C) a total of 69 times, including a record 42 consecutive days from June 23 to August 3, of which 28 days were above 105, and five days above 110.

Fed prevents Texas from ramping up power output to meet demands as a result of climate policies. Weeks before last years winter storm, the Fed denied our request to increase output to prepare. Power companies have ways of dealing with weather extremes, however, they get throttled back for emissions etc.

The population of Texas has also exploded, and real numbers aren’t possible to measure the extent it has. Power demands are way up from that as well

    Lol.

Companies are rapidly leaving California in 2021, Stanford researchers find

    https://www.kron4.com/news/californi...earchers-find/

California-based companies are moving out of the state at an accelerating rate this year, a report by the Hoover Institution at Stanford University found.

The report published in August 2021 said California already lost a total of 74 headquarters just in the first six months of the year.

Compare that to the total of 62 known companies that relocated in the entirety of 2020 – the Hoover Institution calls it a ‘serious loss.’

KRON4 has previously reported on Oracle and Hewlett-Packard being among major tech company headquarters that left California for Texas.

    Bay Area losses

Researchers used data not just from the pandemic years, but data all the way back to 2018 to show the 3-year exodus.

From January 2018 to June 2021, the Bay Area accounts for five of the 10 California counties that saw the most company departures.

Start-up hotspot San Francisco tops the list, second to Los Angeles, with 47 total companies lost in that 3-year period.

This city just beat out San Francisco for most expensive rent
Santa Clara County is #4, losing 28 companies. Next, Alameda County at #5 lost 20 companies. San Mateo County at #7 lost 13, and Contra Costa County at #9 lost six companies.

According to the Hoover Institution, these Bay Area migrations “reflect high-tech companies […] opting for less expensive locations not only to control business costs but to lure workers who want to avoid living in ultra-expensive Silicon Valley or San Francisco.”

    Where are they moving to?

    Mostly, Texas.

The Lone Star state gained 114 of the known 265 California companies that relocated their headquarters between January 2018 to June 2021. But Texas has been a prime relocation option for at least a decade, the report said.

Per the Hoover Institution, the second winning state was Tennessee. However, its 25 wins barely compares to the 100+ that found a home in Texas.

Some of the companies that left California for Texas in 2021 can be found in the California Policy Center’s ‘book of exoduses.’

Nearby western states round out the top five relocation destinations: Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. Researchers partially credit their ranking to convenient, short flights from California.

Why California is seen as ‘bad for business’

The report cited a 2021 survey by Chief Executive magazine, in which CEOs in the U.S. revealed what they value most when choosing a site for their headquarters, respectively:

    -Tax policy
    -Regulatory climate
    -Talent availability

Texas ranked as the absolute best for business, and California ranked as the absolute worst for business out of all 50 states in this CEO survey.

LMFAO, California had the #1 Economic Growth and #1 Budget Surplus of ALL STATES.
California Creates More Companies every year than Cuck Companies that leave.
The Golden State has no peers when it comes to expanding GDP, raising household income, investing in innovation and a host of other key metrics.

The way to fight power outages due to high power demand is by getting electric cars.

    It just makes sense.

    San Diego

Highest rates in the whole country

    https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/in...0-273059f1e0da

San Diegans have been shocked by their recent power bills, and now CBS 8 has confirmed that we are paying higher rates than any other city in the country.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, San Diegans paid an average of 36.5 cents per kilowatt-hour last December. Los Angeles residents paid 34% less (24 cents) and Riverside County paid even less, 23.8 cents per kWh.
“The price per kilowatt is the highest in the country,” said Edward Lopez, Executive Director of Utility Consumers' Action Network (UCAN). “San Diego is even out-passing Hawaii, which is not even on the mainland.”

We had plenty of output during the storm. The natural gas plants froze. Increasing output of something that doesn't output isn't going to do anything. The state didn't implement the weatherization plan from 10 years ago that was recommended.

Also lol at lowering my consumption this weekend. House is going to stay at 67, if we lose power I have a whole house generator now.

    You have the batteries?

Solar doesn't work without the grid or batteries. There's some law about it.

The new f150 lightning can be used as a whole house battery. The only other batteries I know of are the tesla powerwalls @ 7k each. They said I need 3.

This is why I went with a nat gas whole house generator that can also use propane. Cost was under 10k when the batteries were 21k + 30k for solar.

We have our own power grid.

6 generators went offline. Can't blame the feds for Texas not regulating our own utilities properly.

I don't know, its benefiting me. I'm in San Diego and this is my monthly bill, and I don't even have solar. Maybe my case is anecdotal, but I accidentally leave lights on when I leave for work, use the oven or air frier every day (notorious energy hogs), I mainly do my vacuuming during "peak hours" (5pm-9pm), leave my computers on and this the range of my electric bill every month:
