I drink lemon juice to help with my respiratory congestion. I kind of get a sour taste in my throat after but I don't have any pain from heartburn.
However, I heard that lemon is extremely acidic like stomach acid. I heard of acid reflux, where the acid from the stomach overflow into the eso****us and if this happens too much, this causes Barrett's eso****us. Can lemon have the same effect on the eso****us since it has a similar PH to stomach acid?

You might want to drink pineapple juice instead. The reasons are obvious.

A strong acid mixed with something like bleach will produce chlorine gas. Some of my tenants had a clogged kitchen sink. I sent my maintenance guy over with a bottle of drain cleaning acid. 20 minutes later the tenants called and said the maintenance guy is unconscious and an ambulance was on the way.Originally Posted by desslok

I very much doubt it. Reflux is constant when it is really bad, presumably you are not continuously ingesting the lemon juice.
