Last night this guy was working lats and literally sprinting from one machine and the free weights section to another. Then he went outside to do jumping jacks and sprinted back in.
I mean he was jacked and shredded and looked like he was around age 40, but I was afraid he was going to hurt someone. I've never seen someone sprint in the gym and I've never seen this guy before?!
Boy the gym has been interesting lately

heh, sounds like it!
I mean, there's nothing wrong (technically) with circuits but you do have to consider your environment... in the thread about gym etiquette this person has violated several of the rules. If he had a home gym he'd be just fine, but I'd say no way in a public gym. It's never too late!

that sounds like a throwback to the old days of the Bally's Circuit Training.
the idea was to do many exercises rapidly and keep the metabolism up while moving quickly from station to station. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Yep. Big fad in the 90's. A lot of gyms had them set up they would even have signs posted saying you could not do multiple sets at one machine because they were reserved for doing the circuit.
I rarely ever saw anyone actually doing circuit training style in the gyms that had them set up, so I'd always just go use the machines I wanted to without regard to the stupid rules.Insta: flexjs

There are gyms now with circuit training such as F45 and Orange theory. F45 is growing like crazy in my area. I enjoy the classes but I keep getting injured. I think I'm getting too old for all of that jumping and running around

Yeah my friend is a trainer at F45 and you get great results and are literally exhausted from a session, but that buzzing of the clock and rushing from station to station to clean the equipment and move on is just a disaster for injuries. It's been really hard on my back so I don't think I can continue. The crowd of people rushing behind you to get you to lower the weights properly, clean them and jump over them to the next station is too much. It's mostly people in their 20s and 30s anyways. I'm 50 so I think I'm just getting too old for that
