Ive found posts that say dont drink diet pop while cutting but I am trying too figure out why?

Supposedly the aspartame can spike insulin in some people, but I question that. And even if it would spike insulin levels, there would not be any fat gain without a caloric surplus. Diet soda is not bad specifically for cutting, but drinking a lot of diet soda may not be the best thing for general health. I do not care, and I'll have a few diet sodas a week when bulking or cutting.

It's not bad cutting or bulking, but you should limit the amount you drink for the fact that most sodas have caffeine, and drinking tons of caffeine can dehydrate you. I drink a few diet mountain dews a day, but I also drink 2 gallons of water a day on top of that.
