You just need a 1.5" wrench, and preferably 2.

Like I said I used an adjustable wrench and a pair of channel locks the first time and it wasn't ideal but it worked.

As for dumbbells, I can’t handle adjustable ones . Luckily I’m old and don’t need anything heavier than 90’s

So much lost real estate though. You could have a bunch of cable machines there for your tendonitis!

Not sure if you seen my weight tree idea in the past . Gas pipe that screw into floor flanges .
I came up with this idea many years ago, but have seen guys using this idea on YouTube now , but usually attaching to a walk stud . This is a basement block wall , so I had to come up with something else .









In my case it’s nice to have access to industrial heat shrink , as that’s what I used in order to get rid of the sharp edges where you cut . Originally I was going to weld round caps that fit on the end of the pipe , but my welding skills have something to be desired

Yes that’s the bad news , 7’.
I’m a manlet ,5/8 , so it’s fine for me. Squats are no issue , and for overhead presses, I only use dumbbells while sitting on a bench , as one of my rotators is farked .

Mine is 7' as well. Flex has some addition to his bar that allows to do standing OHP but I think they move and that will make the lift more difficult. I was thinking of getting a safety squat bar without the handles.

Yes I bought a set of Proloc Cambered bar attachments. They allow the weight to be loaded below the bar, and yes they do swing around a bit which makes it a little more difficult.

I have since bought a bunch of 10 lb plates (14) so I don't need to use them anymore. With the rest of my change plates I can get to 210lbs including the bar which right now I can't even do.

Hence why adjustable dumbbells rule for home gyms.

They are much cheaper and take up much less space.

Those are new tiles I redid the whole basement. Keep in mind the tile area is going to be my man cave, I will have a sofa, flat screen TV etc. It's not just a gym.

Tried the smart dumbbells tonight, did the 80's I normally get 12 at the gym with 80's but I think I rushed my sets as I was stoked working out from home I did 3 sets of 10. They feel freaking awesome!

The 5 pound ones were a mistake . I use them for warming up my rotators, but I could have grabbed a plate for that .
I wish I didn’t order them , and had 95’s instead . My neighbours daughter visits here a few weeks every year from England, and she uses them though

When you mix a mancave with a weight room invariably someone will need to prove they can still bench 300 after a few beers when they haven't done it in 20 years.
