Continuing on with trying Penhaligon's range. Today is The Yasmine, sampled from the perfume store.



A very nice scent. Coffee, vanilla, oud, woodiness and some jasmine. Complex, interesting and satisfying. Very pricey though.

Alright so my alexandria kit came in yesterday, and they were nice enough to give me 2 additional mini samples, as well as 1 of the samples I asked for that wasnt listed black panther.

Ill start with my least favorite:

9th: arabian forest
Straight smells like moss with a little lemon. Kinda got wood floor cleaner vibes from it. And its based off creed spice and wood so I guess its safe to say ill never be a creed fan.
2/10

8th: no apologies
I shouldve known better since I dont like oud. It says it had dark chocolate in it too but its just so spicy it ends up smelling like an old burnt candle plus red hots plus cardboard box. Unlike forest I could see someone wearing this tho.

7th: red rose cafe
Just smells like roses. Not bad its just very grandma ish and not very masculine imo. Its something to maybe spray in the air during valentines but not wear imo.

6th: hibiscus call
Actually almost decent. Wayy too fruity imo, like hawaiian fruit loops is a way to describe it. It is worse than aventus tho and aventus is 5/10 imo.

5th: the god father
Just a boring whiskey scent. No where near as sexy as my claude marsal la melodie. Good if you want the plain scent but not worth the juice. Ill give it an avg rating.

My last four are black panther funtastic executive order and golden rush and all are above average. Havent had the chance to try wearing them yet. Will rate tomorrow but im thinking golden rush might be my fav.

4th: funtastic
Definitely more unique than the god father, but kinda has this funkiness on drydown. It is above avg and unique so I say 6/10 butI personally wouldnt buy.

3rd: black panther
Solid simple bright citrus. Not a grapefruit fan but this does it very well. I do lean more towards darker citrus colognes but this was great and anyone can wear.

2nd: golden rush
Incense honey citrus and blackberry stood out for me. Has a lot more going on than black panther and is very sophisticated. Imo would make an excellent fall/thanksgiving cologne. I might actually buy this. I see everyone here rave about black panther but nobody talk about this. Try it and neg me if you dont think its better. srs

Tropical Nights (was on a large sale and worth it, smells like it sounds)
Africano (rustic woody freshness, a BDA clone that’s worth owning)
Afternoon Splash (clone of Louis Vuitton Afternoon Swim(LV fresh frags are outstanding))

Other good ones are Sweet Smoke, Hawaii Volcano, Cacao Dreams(this is unique but worth checking out).

Many here enjoy Zion, Game Time, Oasis Water etc although I find them leaning a little too feminine for me.

I stopped by my local Estee Lauder outlet. Confirmed that the days of 50% off their "luxury fragrances" are over. Max discount now is 30%. They had a bunch of fragrances Tom Ford, Jo Malone, Killian and Frederic Malle in there. This was the first time i had seen anything other than TF's there. They also had a big pile of Black Phantom with the skull coffrett. They also had a decent amount of candles and a few diffuser sets.

What are your thoughts on Bleu De Chanel Parfum? not EDP, just the Parfum. At first I kinda' liked it, but this has become a scrubber for me. Projection is sh!t, longevity is sh!t and the smell turns into an irritant pretty quickly. Just me, or any one else?

I have a sample of Hawaiian Volcano and it’s nice. I have a bottle of VIW which I use a lot especially during summer. Some good frags overall.

I’ll use Asad soon. It’s not cold enough yet. I have Sauvage Elxir so I’m curious on how it is. SE is a BEAST and 1 spray is powerful. From the initial sniff, Asad smells good albeit not as strong.

I have Khamrah and it’s nice. I get a ton of compliments from it, almost all women. My wife hates it though.

I’m curious on the new one with the coffee note. It’s dropped in price now to $35, I may buy it.

OT2000, Asad is great. The Dior is so overpriced IMO. I like Asad better for some reason. I think it lacks the licorice note which I hate. Not as strong but its like $25 a bottle so spray the fuk out of it.

I agree on the Dior pricing being overpriced. The small bottle I have will last forever though and it’s one of the strongest frags I have ever smelled.

I’ll use Asad probably next week when it cools a little.

New Asad Zanzibar sounds good. I preordered it. Only $45 so why not. It’s probably beast mode.
