So the husband and the 17yo were out of town, the mother was home with the 13yo. She goes out, comes back at 11pm, and the next day at 8AM someone walking finds the duffel bag in a wooded area 1/2 a mile from the house. The cops follow a blood trail to the house and find the 13yo on the top floor. The police say they dont believe the 13yo was involved. Weird. Wonder why the attempt to move the body dragging it a half mile into the woods? Dragging 115 lbs unless the 13yo was huge for his age rules him out. Rules out women unless there was more than one. She wouldnt being back a guy from the bar with her son at the house. Nor would I think her husband would hire a hitman to go his house with his son there. So either some weird random psycho or a guy she was cheating with, still doesnt explain moving the body at 430 in the morning.

Yeah, if you're random bar chad loses his temper and kills someone, he likely isn't going to chop up the body parts and stuff them in a duffel bag. At the same time, the bloody duffel bag with a trail of blood leading back to the house seems like sloppy work, unless it was intentional to lead them off the main trail.

Also, where did this dismemberment occur? In the house? The killer couldn't have been too loud or he would have awoken the kid. That may rule out a struggle as well? but why the blood. Perhaps it was someone she brought home from the bar who she let her guard down with who smashed her in the head with a blunt force object so she went down quickly without much noise. If it were an intruder she would have screamed, called the cops, put up a struggle an awoken the kid.
