So your answer is to put in more teams that don’t deserve to be there? That just results in more playoff games like this, not less. And it doesn’t prevent title games like this from happening either.

Yes it will. Bama and even Tennessee would have got in and played vs teams like TCU before the championship. Bama vs GA would have been so much better. the real issue is scheduling for any conference outside of the SEC.

if they're not going to do something to get the best teams in the top 4, then they need to expand to 8 teams. TCU did not belong.

The last time I saw a bowl matchup where one team dominated this hard was back when Georgia played Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. Even Notre Dame put up a better fight against bama

But yea, yikes, what a total and utter ass whooping. I don't thinking Michigan would've gotten trounced like this, but I also don't think it would've been within three touchdowns.

Ohio State was the 2nd best team this year.

And two years prior Wisconsin set the record and the standard pouring in 70 (539 rushing yards), in the Big Ten Championship.

Bama was not up to Bama’s standards this year… and honestly both Ohio St. and Michigan were better than them. UT lost their qb in the SC game, and having them beat a good clemson team in a bowl game who was playing with a QB making his 1st start doesn’t mean they would suddenly do great in the playoffs. They already had a shot at UGA and lost by two TDs even when they had Hooker in at QB. No one wanted to see UGA play a worse UT team in a rematch for the title. And there’s no reason to think UT would’ve beaten TCU. If Michigan couldn’t do it then why do you think UT would? Without the playoffs we would’ve had UGA vs Michigan, and with the playoffs we got UGA vs TCU. So no, more teams doesn’t automatically mean better championship games. It does mean more blowouts in the early rounds though. And sure there will be some upsets which will make it interesting. But then again the TCU over Michigan game was an upset and look where that got us.

OSU (even with the Michigan loss) is probably the 2nd best team.
3-5 is probably some variation of Michigan, Bama, healthy Tennessee.
Next tier is probably TCU, LSU, USC maybe?
