Russian Hypersonic Warhead is so fast that it's glowing white hot from air resistance

So incredibly fast that it looks like a comet or meteor or something.
This is a highly maneuverable air launched land attack missile.
They also have anti ship variants.
Here it is mounted under a Mig 31 which itself can travel at mach 3.2(FASTER THAN ANY OPERATIONAL AMERICAN AIRCRAFT). and fly at almost 68,000 feet.
When launching from high altitude and high speed aircraft this hypersonic missile travels so fast that the kinetic energy alone is enough to bust any nato bunker.

    Absolutely Alpha AF.

Oh but we don't have anything hypersonic today. Sure. Right. Yeah. Oceanfront property in Arizona for sale, make your offer today. That's exactly what they want you to believe. F22 is from the 1980's and it's still the world champ. We stopped making them, said it was because they were too expensive. Since when did something stop production because it was too expensive for our $700B military? We brought out our WWII Battleships in the 1980s and ran them into the 90's just because they were badass and had big guns to show off. No we stopped producing them because we are working on a better idea. 6th gen fighters. Lasers, whch are faster than any missile. Read something about a concept of how a laser's light beams could be bent so it shoots in an arc. Forget where I read it but made sense. I guess it loses some energy but can happen.

What's the max payload on one of those like. The way I understand it is we haven't developed a long range delivery system for larger city destroying nukes. The big ones currently have to be delivered via bomber or via a special larger short/medium range delivery system on a sub or Destroyer. Can this missle handle the payload of a nuke, specifically the larger yield ones?

You mean the Zircon missile? I told misc about it ages ago. The quad already made a Mach 23, that dwarfs the Zircon. Merica has deployed the anti hypersonics platform, consisting of starlink and James webb energy convergence system.

they were too expensive to have a single role as a fighter - there is very little air to air combat any longer. The government decided it was better to have a common platform multi-role aircraft - jack of all, master of none though.

Speed requires a sacrifice in payload. Also, as with the space shuttle, you reach a point where the increased weight of the fuel limits its range. This is fine as a 25 mile missile with a small specific target but not for much else. And the US Navy has the best anti ship missle defense in the world. China has Sunburn and Sizzler missiles years and years ago. The world has trained itself to defend against them.

Also, Migs are fast and agile but also short range with low payloads and not very high tech. Theyre like Lotus and US air power is like Bugatti.

Yeah sure the same country/military that can't even take over a single small chithole impoverished country has weapons better than the country that spends more on military than all other countries combined.

Inb4 herp derp how Afghanistan turn out. We destroyed the FUKK out of Iraq and afghans military and govt almost literally overnight and had almost all of their cities secured. All the while adhering to some of the most restrictive ROEs ever seen.

Russia can hardly take even take one of Ukraine's cities and still has it's military and govt.

At the rate things are going, we'll get a "study" of a kinetic rods effectiveness soon enough.

US Aircraft Carrier Groups would be easily defeated by coordinated swarm attacks from old fashioned subsonic cruise missiles, Drones, tor****es, etc.
They don't even need even supersonic cruise missiles let alone Hypersonic Cruise Missiles, "Carrier Killer" Precision Guided Ballistic Missiles, etc to take out US Carrier Groups. When you're not dealing with cavemen with small arms weapons, it's a COMPLETELY different ballgame.
Russia, China, etc have Lasers Weapons mounted on planes that can take out US Carrier Groups from hundreds of miles away.
