I imagine that your hosts are under the seemingly false impression that a woman nearly 50 years old is capable of feeding herself.
Imagine the cheek. They probably think that you can do other normal grown up things like bathing and laundry.
You should come clean and let them know that you are helpless and need to be fed or else you will perish of starvation. lol

yeah good luck with that calorie restriction method. That's worked so well with everyone. Who was metabolic adaption, weight regain when you go back to normal calories?

IME it depends on who you are visiting and for how long.
Short visit? Like a weekend?
Yes, there will probably be some sort of plan around eating at least 2 or 3 times.
Staying more than a couple of days?
Might expect to eat together once a day.
I'm sure your hosts don't expect you to just not eat any food unless they put it in your hand and tell you it is okay for you to eat now.
My in-laws habit has been:
- late breakfast
- early dinner
- snack at night
Never any expectation to "eat together" outside of dinner, and not even always that.INTP Crew

For me it would depend on who I'm staying with. My moms beach house I can eat whatever I want. If it's something I'm not sure about I'd ask. I take a lot of food with me when I go there so don't normally have to go into her snacks. If I had to stay at my brother or sisters I'd ask first. I wouldn't just go in their pantry and start eating their stuff.
Next time you have to go stay there just load up on snacks and stuff to take with you.
If I had someone staying here I'd tell them to feel free to eat whatever and make sure they were fed well.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

This thread really opened my eyes to the struggles of female miscers. I can lose 3 pounds in one visit to the toilet, but this challenge is 20 pages worth of conversion to others.
I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

Sometimes you just can't fit it in. Just try to get back to it this week.
I was 129.2 which was a relief. I thought I'd be higher because of beach weekend and even after I got home I ate some junk. I had gotten chips and tostitos for my son while he was here watching my doge and there were a lot left. I should have made him take them with him when he left but I ended up eating them. lol I also didn't do any cardio this week so pretty happy with where I'm at. Now time to get serious and get back to 125.

I'm going to see my Dr. as it's hard for me to even get down to 2,000 calories a day. I'll have around 2,300. I wake up hungry and I'm trying to eat more fruits and veggies raw. She increased one of my medications back because I tried decreasing it but got severe anxiety for 6 weeks so I said I'll take weight gain over being miserable 24/7. There's another psych med that causes weight loss I may need to add in. This is such a nightmare. I don't know why it's so hard to eat 2,000 calories when I ate 800 calories a day a year ago?!!! I have increased my exercise, too, though.
