    Anyone into retro gaming?

Last year, I found my collection of video games from 10+ years ago and started playing some of the games again. Is anyone else into retro gaming? The light gun games for PS1/2 are pretty fun (time crisis) as well as Resident Evil and some of the JRPGs(Alundra) for ps1

Played DOOM, DOOM II and Quake recently on Game Pass, all 25+ years old now so fairly retro.

less active now compared to 10 years ago but I have a pretty big collection of CIB games and consoles that I gathered through the years

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU
    MS, MD, DC
GB, GBP, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, GBA M, DS, DSl, DSi, 3DS, 2DS XL
XB (no console), 360 (no console), Xbone

I'm always conflicted to downsizing, got rid of PS1/PS2 since I wasn't really invested in them from a retro gaming perspective (most gems were better on DC or Xbox anyway)

now I'm thinking of only keeping the games I really love and getting rid of the clutter but in the end I just don't do it lol

it's all stuffed in boxes/containers, my current gen (Switch and Series X) and Raspberry Pi is all that's hooked up to my TV atm

last retrogame I got was Bully: Scholarship Edition for the 360 a couple of week ago, 10/10 game

I remember the days of Mega Drive and Master System where there was no save; and if you die, you start the entire game all over again. And the pause button was on the console itself, lol. And if the game froze or didn't work, you pulled out the cartridge and blew on it, and everything was ok again.

Games these days plonk you right back where you died, kids will never know the stress and anxiety of old-school games like that.

I started out in the Genesis/SNES era. Going back to anything before that always felt like going too far back, although there is the odd exceptions like Super Mario Bros 3. Games from the NES era just always felt kinda cryptic to me at times, like you could tell how they probably expected you to get a strategy guide for them or something, and they were just way more difficult at times as well. Plus I just think the 16-bit era games are a lot better to look at, 8-bit being just a bit too primitive and simple for my taste. Classic Game Boy games tend to be an exception though, I guess they just aged better as I had a Game Boy Pocket and Color growing up.

That was the most annoying part of NES for me and why I only have 3 games for that system. I grew up with PS1/PS2, N64, & Game Cube, so that is my era. I still like SNES games though.

I have the same dilemma. Last year I sold off a lot of my NES higher priced games. I used the money to buy Gameboy games. I figured that I would have a smaller collection that way. My goal is to sell off games for my others systems as well and focus on mostly Gameboy (GBC and GBA) games.

I'm starting to get the itch to play some childhood games again. Marathon. Dark Forces. Tie Fighter. Command and Conquer. Original Call of Duty. Goldeneye. Mario Kart 64. Links Pro. And lots more.

Still have my NES in the mint original box that I got as a Christmas gift in 1989. Will never forget the excitement that night. If you weren't alive in the late 80's you wouldn't understand the craze society had for Nintendo. Was recently digging through some boxes and found my PS1 with Need for Speed High Stakes still loaded. Kinda choked me up when I realized the last time I played it was with my best friends in the golden year early 2000's, then packed it up one day, probably when we all left for college, where it sat untouched for 20 years.
