Nice!! You've already beat the hardest boss in that chalice which is the shotel thrower. The final queen is more of an endurance fight than anything. She doesn't hit that hard but has a metric fuk ton of HP

I just juiced up my burial blade and made a sick outfit combo - bone ash everything with the yargal robe. I feel like the grim reaper.

I'm going to make some level 5 root chalices when I'm done just to enjoy my set up a bit more. Angus = peppered.

Are these games as hard as they say? Doesn't sound fun to me to get murked by random trash mobs and have to spend weeks learning how to kill 1 boss.

No, they aren't. But you have to play them a specific way. You cant just rush in and expect to do well. You need to go slow, learn how the enemies work, etc. When fighting a boss for the first few times it helps to try not to attack, just learn how they move and how to avoid them. This helps a lot.

If you can beat an old school Castlevania game you can beat Souls games. I find the game play kind of similar even though they were 2D. You had to learn the enemies movements.

I like to run the regular hunter cap and the rest as the bone ash set for fashion sake.

In. Very pumped. Haven’t decided on ps5 or pc. Have a decent pc (9900k/2080ti) but have a feeling it prob won’t be optimized for anything more than the consoles. So prob overkill to play on PC, Knowing how FS has done on pc ports before.

I’m going PS5 first and will eventually get it on the pc when mods come out for it.

No ps5, only Xbox and PC. I’m def concerned over compatibility issues on PC. Older Soul games didn’t pan out well on PC

BTW - I only have two more bosses left in bloodborne - the abhorrent beast (headless with the worm) and the final queen. Beat the defiled chalice over the weekend. Feelsgoodman.

Go ahead and read a strat for the final chalice boss - they're not hard but they have a stun that has a VERY unclear tell. It took me a few cheap deaths to look it up then beat it in a try or two

im burnt out from the souls games but looking forward to this. I broke down and bought a ps5 off ebay, the demons souls game is a dissapointment to me so far got my fingers crossed for this one.

Probably one of the best reasons to get a next gen console. The shorter the reload times genuinely make these games less frustrating since you're right back to trying again.

Sounds fun honestly, I haven't played a difficult game like that since Ninja Gaiden 2. Sounds like it's sort of similar?

A couple of guys on discord told me to not watch any dark souls or pick one up and to go into elden ring a virgin, been contemplating grabbing one to play over the next couple of weeks though.

I don't think it's crazy hard once you get a hang of how the games work. Still pretty hard though. Another big issue is when you die you respawn at the beginning of the map, and all random mobs respawn as well. Most times there's a shortcut you unlock to the boss but still, it's not the easiest thing to get back to the boss to start the fight all over again.

What system are you on? Honestly if you're able to get Elden, I think you should make that your first souls game. If you're on PS5 then at some point you should definitely pick up Demon's Souls remake.

If you mean the new Ninja Gaiden games (not the NES ones) I'd say it's pretty comparable in terms of challenge. You die, you learn, you get better, you feel amazing when you finally beat "that" boss.

Id say it's as difficult as NG2 and less cheap. I Loved NG black and 2 but 2 in particular had some bullchit cheap shots - clearing that jungle camp full of dudes off screen shooting at you with rocket launchers comes to mind.

These are loosely action RPGs where NG is pure action, but I loved both series.

that's the point and a big part of the appeal though... it's basically "get good or go play something else"

I’m looking forward to the challenge. Games like that are frustrating but draw me in. I can’t stand playing something with zero challenge, it’s basically just a time filler. I guess all games are in a sense but that feel when you finally progress past a difficult part is hnnng.

I'm going a dodge build vs big ol shield. Might do a pyro type melee guy, or might do Samurai. Evidently bows are going to be more useful now.

Do the confessor bro. Fire magic scales off of faith in this game so I'll be blowing through the lands between in full armor smoking fools with fire and holy magic. Plus you know there's gonna be a skeleton section where only holy weapons/spells will kill them for good. It makes sense from a role playing perspective since undead enemies in games usually take double damage from fire

Also the opening cinematic has been leaked. It doesn't spoil any bosses and the named and featured characters in it are tarnished NPCs

This may be my first day one purchase in years. I've beat all the other FS games. Currently going for platinum on Demon Souls remake w my mage build. Hard to say what I'm going to run. It will probably be a magic, or warrior/mage hybrid, or faith/paladin type of character. Umbasa.

Avoiding even looking at the starting classes for awhile but decided that it’s probably not a big deal. Vagabond and Hero seem like they would work for my usual play style. Leaning towards Vagabond though.

Edit: Apparently Vagabond starts with a long sword so Vagabond it is. Looks cool as fuk too.
