This was the first hunt for that dog that escaped our room and we found in a convenience store. It was about 90 degrees and sunny and this dog was running around gung ho to find birds. The dog stopped under a tree and collapsed. It was unresponsive and unconcious from the heat. We made a stretcher from a vest and carried the dog towards this windmill we saw in the distance. The windmill was keeping a stock tank full of water. We kept splashing water on the dogs tongue and eventually he opened his eyes. Then he was able to move his head. Then he could move his legs but not stand up. We dunked him in and out of the stock tank to cool him down. The dog was able to walk back to the trucks under its own power.
