I’d MUCH prefer to enjoy a real, delicious donut and get my protein from other sources.

And therein lies the problem of "diet" treats. I personally go cold turkey on processed or highly flavoured foods of any kind when in a deficit - I feel much better and find it easier to comply with the diet.

My Lay's potato chips are only 10 calories per chip. The problem is no one can eat just one and they come in a bag of approximately 207 chips.

    Same.

Especially so when the unprocessed food is filling enough on its own, so that getting full quells what would otherwise be an enticement for junk via a mere appetizer.

    Who taught you math?

    12 grams protein
    28 grams of carbs
    1 gram of fat
    = 169 calories.... not 128.

I have done it once or twice, but admittedly it was pretty disappointing. As SP already said, better go all or nothing with that sort of thing, IMO.

I rarely buy potato chips but when I do, I eat the whole bag/canister in one sitting and don't feel the least bit guilty about it.

More often I eat stuff like that at a group gathering of some sort, so general social etiquette serves as self-control and moderation.

Well, yeah. I think you've got me wrong. By "all" I mean a complete, normal sized snack/serving (or delicious regular donut, in your case), rather than some kind of deliberately wimpy portion.

This is like stating that when you purchase a 40 ounce bottle of malt liquor in a paper bag, you are only going to consume 12 ounces while discussing economics with your fellow associates on a street corner in the ghetto.

It must be really hard for you to keep a job and stay out of jail etc too. Rip…

Stuff is hard, deal with it. Lifting heavy weights isnt easy either. Sounds like you are just cherry picking which things you want to give up on.

I would prefer to eat a "real", delicious donut for 2-3x's the calories and make up for it elsewhere. Personally, that does NOT look tasty at all!

Thats what I was getting at, just eating one. Which is fine. But somebody said that they would not be able to stop at eating 1-2 whole donuts, which is a much bigger problem.

While most carbohydrates, such as lactose or sugar, contain 4 calories per gram for the purposes of calculating calorie values, NDCs like those included in the definition of dietary fiber contain 2 calories per gram.

who taught you dietary science? lol... just breaking your balls, but yeah its because the fiber counts as carbs

Hmm, why does Portland have such good stuff. Some of the best coffee up there as well as voodoo donuts.
A dock in harbor is safe, and thats what docks are built for.

Voodoo is junk, its a tourist trap don't waste your time lol. They've also expanded to Colorado, Texas and Washington. We have so many other local "higher end" donut shops that are far superior like Blue Star.

We do have dang good coffee though, I'll give you that!

I remember in grad school some guy in the gym for Portland that casually knew me if I could take a final exam for him. He said he flunked the class 3 times and needed the class to graduate. I declined. I was a graduate assistant at the time, and would proctor tests. I proctored the final for the test he was taking. That jigaboo turned like a white sheet when he saw me.

I used to call my dog jigaboo.
