Unfortunately unless things are vastly different in NY than other parts of the country, Nor the Mayor or President of a burrough can impose a sentence. That's up to the court/justice system which is a joke for the most part.

Things aren’t different in Baltimore we had many children getting shot in cars, it’s becoming quite common.

Not only did a child get shot in their dads car but then a few weeks later that child’s 3 year old sibling got shot walking down the street.

Baltimore is full of progressive leadership and yes they are black. They are also involved in their own legal troubles as well. The last two former mayors were caught in stealing and money laundering crimes. The current DA is now under investigation, she faces up to 70 years for fraud. She also over charged the police in the Freddy Grey case and her husband stood in the middle of the riot in a thousand dollar suit.

The system needs work but progressives are not in right mind. Non of those black leaders live in the crime sections.

I had hopes for the new NYC mayor because of his message of turning around crime and getting people to feel comfortable going back to office buildings and offices to work. I just hope he at least supports and builds the NYPD after DeBlasio dismantled it.

But he was on national TV so at the very least he could have said "To the persons involved in this shooting (there were two people shooting at each other) be sure you will be caught and dealt with" or something like that. Everyone was watching his press conference and I know those two aholes were as well.

Your new mayor has a bad DA who is a progressive moron who actually thinks the system should work to make bad guys somehow become reformed.

Nothing reforms people, only that person can reform themselves, of course there is police corruption and there are tasks forces to handle that.

That DA is an idiot no sooner than when he mentioned a robbery done with a gun is not going to be considered a felony a girl got shot in a robbery in burger king (she worked there) the next day and died.

Actually, no.

There are many flavors of Blacks, just like there are many flavors of Whites, and Asians, and Latinos.

People in the hood come in all colors. Blacks who embrace 'thug life' are different than Conservative Blacks.

Inner city people (again, come in all colors) are the way they are not because of race, but because of generational conditioning brought about by gubmint and the media.

There are exceptions to the rule, obviously. Take our friend John (the OP). He grew up in the hood but he has traditionalist conservative values. He's a good dood.

At any rate, what we are seeing across America has nothing to do with race, but everything to do with the effects of welfarism brought forth by gubmint.
